it's true. Most animals don't like us. It's because humans sweat through their pours instead of panting like most animals. It makes us stink and taste foul. Take comfort in the fact that in most cases of man being killed by bear, they usually just pop your skull open and lick out your brains then move on to find some berries and whatnot.
They just smear honey all over you. Human piece of bread. This only counts for the critical bear though, if you encounter a hungry one at the wrong time they can't be bothered.
I'm guessing someone didn't see the movie 'The Edge' (1997) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G31h5gbazwU&feature=related"]YouTube - Huge Kodiak bear attacks Sir Anthony Hopkins! Hotwater
Was this a lead in for this movie? (really really funny) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ba1BqJ4S2M"]YouTube - NSFW. A hunter shoots a bear!
I doubt it. I heard a story of a guy last year who was a park ranger in B.C. Canada. He was out in the woods when a Grizzly attacked him. It started chewing on his arms and skull. Then to mark its territory it shit all over him then continued to eat him anyways. He somehow got away and made it back to his truck and he's alive today. But, the bear continued to chew on him and eat his flesh after shitting all over him. Something tells me they're not that picky.
lmao. Well they'll eat man if they're hungry enough. And mangle man if they feel like it. But a bear with a healthy diet generally looks for more pallatable meat. The sweat thing is true man, ask Bear gryls.
In the years between 1900 and 2003 (more than one hundred years, of course) there have been 50 documented deaths of human beings that can be directly attributed to Grizzly Bear attacks also known as "brown bears". Now, “brown bears” are a species into which many subcategories fall, including Grizzly Bears. So it’s entirely possible that not all of the 50 recorded deaths can be blamed on Grizzly Bear attacks. However, the fact that they are extremely aggressive and dangerous – and that they are known to attack humans – means that most of the fifty fatalities can be attributed to the ferocious Grizzly Bear. In the 8-year period, 2000 through 2008, there were ten Grizzly Bear attacks, all of which resulted in the death of the human victim or victims. Many of these Grizzly Bear attacks occurred in under-populated parts of Alaska and Montana, areas where the Grizzly bears roam freely. http://www.grizzlyman.com/grizzly-bear-attacks/ Those numbers aren't high consider thats over 103 years. However how many deaths do you think went unnoticed?
Yah, I've heard that about sharks too. I guess they confuse humans for other more tasty animals. Usually, they take a bite and swim off kind of repulsed. They don't usually go for seconds, from what I have read/heard. I've seen pictures of pretty nasty injuries from bear maulings and shark attacks. I guess without a gun, humans are actually pretty damn weak, and all things equal, we would probably be at the bottom of the food chain. Thank god for technology, right?
I agree, and people who don't think bear will eat them should go up north and stand next to a polar bear. Bears getting ready to hibernate will even eat rotten salmon (they die after spawning) to fatten up. They don't seem picky to me. With sharks it's more like we are too boney, not worth the effort to eat. We're also not usually alone, so we can get away easier than other prey.
What shit evolution, he really didn't use out brains when conjuring up that one... oh wait, that's because a bear ate it.
No shit hungry bears eat what they can get. I best most of those were teritorial killings and any feeding was purly oppertunistic. I don't know why you always want to argue with me over little things. human sweat glands make human meat unappealing to animals. But raman is unappealing to me and I eat it all the time. I'm just trying to pass on an interesting thing I heard. Wild Animals don't get body oder like people do. They smell like their enviorment and pee. Two and two here. Same princable with sharks. If people tasted great the beach would be a much darker place. Edit: and how specific are they about partially consumed? Bite marks from the mauling and a scooped out brain unless the bear was starving. 5 to 1
