I'm going to be stuck in a car for many, many hours. Which of these books should I bring with me? I'm very indecisive. If you've read one or any of them, was it (they) any good?
All your drugs. And me. I always reccomend Kurt Vonnegut books to people. Mostly it's sarcastic but in this case you might enjoy it
I'm sorry but I can't help you on that one. I have the hardest time staying interested in a book. The only books I have ever been able to finish are Stephen King books or biographies ( Anthony Keidis and Janis Joplin)
Many Steinbeck Franz Kafka other D.H Lawrence titles - I really enjoyed Sons and Lovers Never been a huge fan of Hemingway's writing style Edgar Allan Poe Tons of poetry Tons of philosophy (not really roadtrip material imo) Nietzsche Don't care for Kerouac I can't think of them all right now
I tried to read a couple of those books but I became nauseous I do however recommend: Hunters of Dune by Brian Herbert Sandworms of Dune by Brian Herbert Paul of Dune by Brian Herbert Notice a theme going on here; the greatest sci-fi epic of all-time Hotwater
A tip sheet from the local racetrack, the owner's manual for your car, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, or do a search for "roadside art."
How would you describe it? If it's not too wordy or sentimental, I would take D.H. Lawrence. Otherwise, Hemingway. I would need a description of Thomas Hardy's before making a decision about it. I like books that are succinct, humorous, and practical. ----------- On my to-buy list now: Stendhal, Memoirs of an Egotist and Henry Miller, Tropic of Cancer. Also, Bachae and Frogs by Euripides and Aristophanes.
