I had LSD again for the first time in 2 years, and assuredly it was good and real LSD. However what stood out to me this time is how stimulating it is. The last time I had LSD I was a serious caffeine addict, I had tons of it. So the stimulating qualities of LSD just seemed normal to me as I was so used to always being on caffeine. But I quit caffeine about a year and a half ago, and have had none since. So when I took LSD now, since I am no longer used to stimulating substances, I really noticed how stimulating LSD is not only to the mind, but to the body as well. Like I could go run around with little exhaustion, I had so much energy. During some periods my heart was beating at an accelerated rate. I'm just curious has anyone else noticed this about LSD? Do you feel like LSD gives you alot of physical energy and sometimes gives you an accelerated heart rate? Can various batches of LSD be more stimulating, or more relaxing than others? Or maybe it's more dependent on the environment? This was my first time doing LSD at a festival and the place was teeming with alot of excitement and movement.
not necessarily an accelarated heart beat, but it for sure energizes me. the major factors put into your story is that youre totally hooked on caffeine, and that the festival was poppin. it most likely wont be the same as without these factors. if you do have a strong dose of gorgeous lucy enough that is less than uncomfortable then your peak will be stimulating and very interesting aside from your factors u provided, it's just typically energizing.
I feel pretty stimulated on LSD the majority of the time I take it, regardless of the quality. It actually has quite a similar side effects profile as MDMA for me. I get clammy, teeth grinding, a noticeable comedown with lasting stimulation, and usually move around alot.
LSD in low to moderate doses does act as a stimulant in some ways. That is what gave rise to the myths of it being cut with amphetamine, although there were a few batches in the late 60's that were doped with amphetamine, you most likely won't come across anything like that today. At higher doses the ataxic (an inability to coordinate voluntary muscular movements)properties can become more pronounced and result in "couch lock".
i find LOW DOSE LSD to be highly stimulating. Bigger doses flatten me and shove "me" outside of my physical body space. i believe Albert Hoffman in an Entheogen Review interview stated that he found very low-dosing (10-25 mcg) to be highly stimulating and a great way to start the day. i also find that mid to high level dosing has a distinct pain killing effect which lasts for days after the dose wears off . . .
You ever walked a really long distance on acid. I walked around the city without even really thinking about walking. I just kept walking and all of sudden I just did a loop around town. Its like 12 hours of crack!
i have walked HUGE distances (both in cities and in nature/switchback trails) in a singular day (like 15-18 miles) on low dose LSD and/or low-dose mushrooms. These days i try to limit myself to 5 miles or less . . . .otherwise there's no painkilling after-effect that can touch my lower back . . . .
Erowid: "LSD (D-Lysergic Acid Diethylamide, or Acid for short) can be a wonderful psychotropic ally, and is probably the most versatile psychedelic known to humanity. Its effects vary from simple stimulation, like a cup of coffee, that can facilitate intense focus for 8ish hours at the 25mcg dose range (excellent for programming, writing, driving or listening to lectures) to a social, stimulating psychedelic in the 50-200 mcg range (great for dancing, concerts and walks in nature) to a frankly amazing, mystic entheogen in the 300-700mcg range (much more heroic than social, but great for communing with God/dess). Some people find that the intensity of the LSD experience tends to plateau at dosages over 500-700mcg, although its duration may continue to extend."
i feel pretty "stimulated" on L, although i don't have much experience with stimulants. i am often left with a jaw/neck/back ache on the comedown.
This usually happens when you "imprison" the energy, you don't let it flow. But if you let the energy flow, it is actually charging you, and you should feel better and with more strenght than before lsd. I like the 500ugs and more doses, they just take you out of your body, you become your mind and the mind controles the body. The body doesn't have any choices except to do what mind wants it to. Thats when you can do whatever you want, but you must not doubt that you can do what you want, otherwise acid brings shitload of reasons why you actualy can't do things and you stay "couch locked"
no way dude. not on my last acid trip anyways. i was at a festival and danced like i never have before. i was definitely letting it flow the next morning i felt great, but like 11 hours after dosing, i felt kinda worn out.
You are trying to attribute "mystical" sources and connotations to effects that are completely somatic. Clenching of the jaw is one of the well known physiological effects of a lot of psychedelics, same with a queasy stomach. No mystical explanation needed nor is it accurate.
You could describe what he describes in somatic terms just as well. Just because someone likes a certain style of writing does not mean there isn't truthful information in it. There is no reason for everyone to write everything as scientifically sounding as they possibly can. Everyone has their own style.
Everyone does indeed have their own style, but there is a point at which a clear and common terminology does a lot more to explain and help others understand what you mean. "imprison the energy" what the hell does that mean? A description like that is so vague as to render it almost meaningless to anyone else but the one saying it. If I were to interpret what shapeshifter said into a common terminology accessible to all I would say that often the muscular tension is the result of trying to control the experience and not relaxing and allowing yourself to just flow with whatever it may reveal to you. Breath and relax and that can alleviate much of the physical tension. Clenched jaws and tension in the facial muscles is a very well known and common physical side effect of some psychedelics, no "energy flows" involved or needed to explain it.
The word energy doesn't refer to physically manifested muscles as much as it refers to the substructures of energy, and electricity, that run through the muscles. If you required a scientific context, 'energy' would be referring to something in the atomic, or quantum level of flesh. It's the electrical pulses, and energy, running through your flesh which control your flesh. Awareness of energy is awareness of not just muscle tension, but the underlying system which controls muscles, it's awareness of the pre-condition of muscle tension, and all other physical manifestation your body would experience.
