Whilst looking at the body modification forum it struck me to ask about something I've been pondering in the back of my mind for years. I have a stretched lobe piercing, and have often wondered about making my own jewellery. Wood I could conceivably do, with enough practice, since I understand the basics of it. However, what really interests me is the idea of making my own acrylic pieces, thus allowing me to set things in them - flowers, rare coins, watch faces, the two little kitten fangs my kitty recently lost, small images... the possibilities are seemingly endless. However, I don't know how it would be done. I know that a few years back a tattoo mag had a photoshoot/interview with an art and design student who made her own acrylic plugs. It just didn't go into any detail about how it was done. So, how do you make stuff out of acrylic? I get that I'd need a mould, which I would probably have to get made for me, but beyond this, I'm stumped lol. Plus, I expect it's significantly more complicated than I'm anticipating!

    Can anyone help me out?

have never used acrylic myself, but am sure it's not as difficult as you anticipate and moulds are pretty easy to make or adapt. there's plenty of info on the web, just do a search would be your best bet.
    good luck.:)
