I suppose I am looking for something to give my life meaning. I am a athiest, really, but I like the idea of living a life guided by principles and insights into life and stuff like that. Although I have a pretty full life, have got myself a fairly good education, good friends, interests, etc, I still find a lot of the time I am moping around, tangled up in worries, negativity, and out-right fear at times. So I have forced myself to read about meditation and buddhism, and am just generally willing to try anything to help me bring, quite simply, some happiness and calm into my life. ...so, to cut a long story short, I've been trying meditation and reading stuff on spiritual things - some of which I can't get on with, but I have been helped by self-help books in the past. Meditation is proving quite interesting. My question is there any advice you can give for this natural depressive who often instead of doing something constructive instead finds himself at home smoking ciggs and drinking coffee? Basically, I'm at the end of a dead road and I want some advice. The pupils ready, etc, etc. Can you help? Cheers, throttle water.
You have posotivity and peace with you at alllll times! ..That is the gift! I know its hard to hold onto a feeling they always run away... Life sucks, Lifes Great, do things for others and not yourself itll make u happy to see them happy, or will it? I DARE YOU
What helps a lot is lucid dreaming, I just started and haven't gotten to do much, but after awhile when I start getting used to it and getting better I can totally see how it will help my real life problems.. You can literally do anything you want, some people apparently spend their time killing everyone they hate, some people spend their time banging hot girls, some even kill themselves in their dreams to see how their brain interprets death.. Yeah meditation is awesome too though!! I love it, gives you a sense of sanity for an hour or two, its great! Honestly I'm not the best to give advice.. But there is my two cents anyways Hope it helps!!
let go of any assumtpions you may have and give in to where the universe takes you. meditation is often about not just self control, but letting go of things. becoming dettached, crumbling the ego and starting fresh again. people often find themselves letting go of any labels or archetypes they place to things and upon themsleves after taking up meditation. good luck with your journey
Also, what helps me a lot is getting out and talking to people, meeting new people.. It IS hard, to me at least. I don't know how social you are, but I am not at all.. But when I meet someone through a friend and start becoming good friends with them its a great feeling.. Opens a whole new set of doors, and maybe they will teach you something about yourself.. You never know
