Fearing the midterm elections

Well so far Obama hasn't been very effective in cleaning up the mess left behind by Bush & Co., so now we see the rise of right-wing screwballs like the Tea Party gaining acceptance. I fear that we'll see a lot of extremists getting elected as Republicans in November and effectively making Obama a lame duck. Then in 2012 they might be able to put in someone even worse than Bush! (yes it is possible!). Are you feeling these fears too?

obama is already a lame duck as the senate seems to need 60 votes to get anything done

i've had several dreams recently in which there were far too many tea partyist in the House for me to live contently in this country...that is even scarier than Republicans in my opinion.

 

The party in power should be able to have another campaign against the president, if they so choose.

Also: I'm probably voting Ron Paul in 2012, no matter what happens

 

No one believes senate candidate and tea party radical Christine O'Donnell can win in November so as long as that holds true the democrats will at least maintain control over the senate

well, if sarah palin is nominated or the tea party shuts down the government i'm gonna be fucking pissed. scared may not be the best description...

 

I've resigned myself to a Republican Congress, but, in the long run it could end up giving the Democrats control for decades to come after the Depression is over.

I share your fears. The main thing I worry about is if a republican is elected and they start raiding dispensaries again. But I think the popularity of right wing extremists is greatly exaggerated. I really hope (more like pray) that people will not be so stupid as to elect these insane folks into office.
But it's happened before so I don't have much hope

 

My area's very close to holding Witchburnings anyway. I'm an open Pagan. If these fools get in power, my family may be in very real danger. We'd have to move, and me go into the broom closet, in a best-case scenario.
