bassnectar last thursday, shpongle this wednesday

same place, its gonna be sick

bassnectar was fucking RAGING, played so many new songs from his new EP "wildstyle", and that shit was BOMB

now shpongles playing, and im really tempted to taking a lot of L, but i have had experienced friends who have flipped out at shpongle shows before, anyone seen shpongle? what do you think?

 

I saw Shpongle on 2ci, everyone I was with had to go sit in the corner the majority of the show because it was to intense for them, but definitely take LSD. I was up the whole time and even straight up dance like I was on MDMA to 'Star Shpongled Banner'

 

i have seen Shpongle twice:

Symbiosis 2009: Outdoors, Festival, 3rd Day, Forest, lots of DMT hits. Heard Shpongle. Saw something truly wonderful - an amazing vision of hope and unity with diversity.

Indoor venue, Major Metropolitan City, Spring, 2010, 1.5 WoW doses and 200 mgs MDMA, 100mgs, with 100 mgs about 70 mins later). i SAW the entire Shpongle show and had a great time. But, i was disoriented at times and very grateful that i had entered the venue early and procured a balcony seat - otherwise i would have been out in the hall, sitting on the floor. By the time Simon was spinning the Hallucinogen set, i had stumbled out into the hallway with sunglasses on and sat down on the floor. There were a huge number of other people doing the same thing and looking at them made me feel like i was functioning very well.


Needless to say, Shpongle is very intense, even the DJ sets. i would NOT take a lot of L. When i go to see Shpongle (again) in October, i will take 1 to 1.5 hits of WoW and 120 mgs of MDMA and hopefully will be able to make it through to the end of Hallucinogen.

Of course, regardless of what you choose, have a GREAT time. What a fun way to spend a couple of days!

 

yea i figured i shouldnt take wayy too much L, i dosed high at bassnectar but thats a whole different style than shpongle

 

saw Bassnectar last night. Search and Destroy remix was ragin. 4 doses and .4 molly. was intense as FUCK.

saw shpongle on 5 doses in atlanta a few months ago. some songs i had to get away and chill out.

 

Simon Possford is amazing live, I got the chance to see him, and it took my trip to another level, it got intense, don't overdo it like others have said.

 

Saw shpongle at Rothbury 2009... it was insane. I already had my face stolen and I was in the middle of sherwood forest when I remembered that shpongle was playing. I litterally followed the clouds of DMT smoke to find the show; and shpongle was in the middle of the song DMT. good times fo sho

LSD + K + Molly + DMT = great for shpongle show

Aliced, no worries, but in my opinion you abuse drugs if that's your idea of what someone should do at a concert.

And as a former Shpongle fan, I'm saying they are annoying. Except for the more psychill songs. I think I only really dig psychill and not any form of upbeat psytrance. I think that shit is incredibly fucking annoying.

Plus it is my opinion there is nothing better than live improvisational music. I don't think I would ever want to waste my money on an Electro act.

 

Yah I guess it depends what you are going for I actually enjoy dancing to the music so taking like 4 drugs is to much for me. Candyflip is more than enough you may even be too floored on that.

I agree live music (with instruments) has a unique quality that djs can't touch but Dj's often do improvise with their set and stuff. Shpongle is a dj that does improvise and will mix live.
I don't know what you are referring to as Electro (has nothing to do with Shpongle) but I've seen some underground electro that was fucking absolutely unreal before.

 

shpongle is psychill bro, hallucinogen is the upbeat psytrance. i agree i dont really like the upbeat shit, but shpongle is psybient trippy ass music and that shit will trip me out way more than alot of jam bands

Shpongle is definitely very intense while tripping. I saw him last fall along with hallucinogen and prometheus on two very potent tabs of LSD that pretty much blew me out into space. It was easily the most intense trip I've personally experienced. I'm planning on writing out a report from some notes I scribbled the day after but, despite being slightly scary at first it was actually quite worthwhile. There was a significant amount of soul-searching and analysis that helped to clear up some issues, and once shpongle came on the trip became extremely euphoric, and not at all scary! It was just a wonderful atmosphere.

So, I don't really know, while I wouldn't trade that experience for anything, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for others, and it was definitely much more than I bargained for!

As far as Bassnectar goes, I'm going to a show in a little less than a month and I'm planning on trying Molly for the first time, though I'm considering extracting mescaline and trying that as I've heard wonderful things about the social aspect of it.
