Why do most of you guys talk about government all having weed illegal controlling you. Yet you want the governemtn to control everything else?
Weed is more of a concern for the youth rather than; freedom, health care, global control, overpopulation, poverty, inflation, ect ect ect
thats an assumption. but people for more government control want them for reasons, not just cuz they want more government. and the war on drugs is just enormously ignorant (because of scientific facts. and fear-mongering on the opposing side), things such as universal healthcare though, are not, regardless of someone's bias.
idk I just dont under stand why someone would want the governemtn to control everything else in there life just not there smoking life.
well i dont know why you have such a naive view of world politics but there ya go. libertarians are just as stupid as everybody else
On what basis do you conclude that most of us want government to control "everything else"? That to me spells higher taxes. I don't want the government controlling shit.
i am going to address this. people are stupid. as a result, laws have to be made, to have a baseline to go off of. they should be common sense, but not everyone has that, so there are laws, that you can look up, and see what The People have decided are some pretty good rules to follow. some laws are not common sense, and serve other motives. some laws are based on nonsense and racism. the government oversteps its bounds IMO when it dictates what we can, and can not do to/ put into our bodies. it is your body, your decisions effect you, and only effect others by association. i think suicide should not be restricted (of course, its only illegal if you fail) i think drugs and poisons and foods should have information pages, where you can look things up and decide for yourself whether or not you want to take something. (thanks to Erowid much information is available) if i want to have an abortion, it is my body, and the control over my body is not something the government ought to have (life is a continuous process, it 'began' a LONG LONG time ago.) but essentially the government should be a support function for The People, the function being to keep everyday life running in an orderly fashion, with minimal interference. the government has no place telling me how fast i can kill myself slowly, by drinking, smoking, doing drugs, eating fatty foods, etc. they can make suggestions, but truly, i believe that by regulating these behaviors we are relinquishing a partial solution to the overpopulation problem. let some people kill themselves, let the hard drugs roll in, and we eliminate a lot of stupid people. boosts the gene pool. let some of the terminally ill get help from their doctor to not ease the suffering, but end it. most people do not want government to control everything. most people agree that that would be "doubleplusungood" {see 1984, by George Orwell} but if government works properly it should help the people to go about living and creating without being intrusive. our government is leaking fluids, the brakes are shot, the tires have no tread, and the problems can not be solved all at once, or easily, or to everyones satisfaction. there are no fast fixes, and thats what people, impatient americans expect. all the solutions are more like a tough cut of meat, to make them tender, cook low and slow. on the other hand, being directed through your life is easy, minimal brain power required {see military. you are on call 24/7 and they just tell you what to do. learn this, sweep that, polish this, eat that, easy peasy} i lost track of the other stuff i wanted to say. blonde moment i guess
technically the consumer runs the government.. because big business is what really is "the government"... don't forget your loudest voice is heard by the dollar.. spend it wisely.. and in the right places.. and the government will have no choice but to succumb to the demands of the masses
