Rocko's Modern Life - Rare 1989 MTV Pilot

This is the first Rocko cartoon Joe Murray did for MTV. I just found it recently on youtube. I'm not even sure how I found it because the tags don't mention Rocko or Joe Murray or anything of the sort. This aired in 1989. Someone actually showed this to Joe Murray on his blog (joemurraystudios.com) and he was surprised someone put it online.

I love that rocco is voiced in the show by Carlos A./officer Garcia from reno 911. What a great cartoon series. Nice find!

 

Rockos modern life is so funny, if you rewatch it now that youre older its even more funny.

the mr.bighead pirate sleepwalking episode is deffinitely the funniest

 

Cool! Rocko definitely made a regular appearance in my "don't feel like doing homework yet" TV regimen. Nickelodeon in the 90s... those were the days.

 

ahahahahaha... A few weekends ago I was home by myself and couldn't sleep, there was like a completely random Rocko marathon out of nowhere from like 2-6am on one of the Nick channels. It was the first time I saw it since Nickelodeon started to suck and I stopped watching and omg hahaha I was pissing myself for hours. Neighbors must have been like WTF is going on in there???

 

lol its fucking hilarous. just the little things are so funny. on the one airport episode in the background you hear the intercom go " Kleptomaniac, mr kleptomaniac"

Here's the 2nd cartoon entitled "My Dog Zero" which was shown to Nickelodeon and eventually evolved into the final product of Rocko's Modern Life.
