I have learnt Spanish for 1 week. I love it so much when I am a Vietnamese, I have been learning English for 10 years, now I want to study Spanish. I have some questions and hope you can help meout. 1. The word "ropa" in Spanish is never in plural form, right? Because it means clothes already? 2. "Mi esposo pasa la aspiradora". What does "pasa" mean in this case? I know it is from "pasar"=pass, but how could we understand that sentence? 3. "Mi hija la seca". I know the verb "secar"=dry, but why is it "la" in this sentence? Could we remove it? 4. What is the difference between "después" and "entonces"? They both mean then, after. 5. Are "preferido" and "favorito" the same meaning? 6. Why does "rápidas" have a stress on it? I checked in the dictionary but found no stress on it. They get me confused a lot. Thank you so much. Gracias.

Since i haven't studied it in a few years i can only help you with a couple of these...(fuck online trasnlators, they are usually wrong) 1) i'm pretty certain you are correct in your assumption that "ropa" is always singular. 2) the word "aspiradora" means vacuum and the word "pasar" is the verb that corresponds with aspiradora. So the sentence "Mi esposo pasa la aspiradora" means My husband vacuums... Pasar is conjugated to pasa (el/ella)...but i'm not sure if pasar is the right verb for this...where did you see this sentence? 3) i don't know that doesn't even seem like a complete thought (my daughter the dry??) 5) favorito= favorite while I am pretty sure "preferido" is a conjugation for the word preferir...as far as my studies go, i learned up to present perfect...and there are several other perfet forms...but for the present perfect all forms of preferir are preferido but with something in front of it such as he preferido has preferido ha preferido...etc... that's about all i can do, i should know entonces vs despues de...but i dont... i was just giving this a shot in the dark, I am not certain I am correct, but good luck 6) i can't explain why there is an accent, but i can tell you it has to do with pronunciation
im shitty at explaining, i just know what i know because i was raised on it for a very short period. but its easier to explain if you have the full sentences for context. 1. yea, la ropa, never ropas 2. my esposo pasa la aspiradora en la piso, my husband vacuums the floor,for example. 3. umm mi hija la seca would mean that she dries something. need a full sentence to know. mi hija seca would mean she herself is being dried i think. 4.ya despues is used like after, and entonces is used like then. 5. used at different times, not sure why or when. 6. im not sure why, but it just does lol sorry for the bad attempt lol
for 6, its not said any different its exactly how it looks,the accent doesnt change how you say rapido, it just has somthing to do with the syllable or the vowels at the end of the word, i forget how it works.
