Yes, h-o-r-m-o-n-e-s are in fact the most common scapegoat on which to blame irrational, violent, or volatile teenage behavior. To act like they are completely responsible for behavior by robbing a person of emotional restraint or logic is pretty absurd though.

 

Well I liked the article, but I read it as humor, not science. That is obviously how it was intended, as a humerous piece.
And it is funny;
Evolution makes teens act like assholes so parents kick them out thereby forcing them to grow up and go hunt in another area thereby assuring enough resources for the parent to continue it's survival.
That actually is what takes place with a lot of animal species.

James May actually did a good program on this. Years ago, teenagers, or that age group didn't really exist, you went from being a young person to an adult, no inbetween. It's a sign of our modern culture that we have this liminal age group. That's not to say they didn't exist or behave in the same way, they were just either considered children or adults, or at best young men/women. They certainly wern't allowed the immense freedom to fuck up everything they came into contact with, including themselves, as we are now.
