"I've noticed that everybody that is for abortion has already been born" ~Ronald Reagan, quoted in New York Times, 22 September 1980
Yea, that's a pretty redundant statement. If I wasn't born yet, but had the mental capacity to know what abortion was and understand how it affects living organisms, I wouldn't want to be born nor would I care about abortion either.
Sounds like something a person with alzheimer's would say. I am for nobody having control of my body. That's pretty much the bottom line.
in 1980 he didn't have Alzheimers I'm for not killing babies who are unfortunate enough to be growing inside an irresponsible selfish person (now the next poster should mention rape)
This is a sensitive issue.I can see the morning after pill.I can also see it in cases of rape or incest. However,I don't see how anyone could morally just use abortion as a form of birth control. The argument that it's a womans body doesn't hold water IMO.A heartbeat starts at like 2 weeks,so therefore it isn't your body. It's the baby's,& therefore, murder.Partial birth abortions disgust me even more. They pull the baby's head from the vagina,& put a rod thru it's head(better than being burned alive by saline I guess).I was born at 7 months.I'm now 32.For what some of the extreme liberals want,I could've been killed at that time had I went full term.I might be poor & live a simple life, but all in all I think I've been a benefit to society.& with all the methods of birth control out there,I cannot see why there should be an"unwanted" child.I've also noticed, which I think is funny,a lot of people are pro-abortion,are anti-hunting..hmmmm?So it's not cool for me to kill an animal to help feed my family, but wholesale murder is ok?Sorry, but I can't understand the logic there.
you should have also quoted the credit to Ronald Reagan and I'm pretty sure this section is for posting interesting quotes...I don't think it's for discussions and debates...If you want to debate abortion I'm sure you could post a thread in another section and interested people will chime in :eggnog:
Joycelyn Elders: "We really need to get over this love affair with the fetus and start worrying about children." Aristotle: "(T)he line between lawful and unlawful abortion will be marked by the fact of having sensation and being alive."
better to have them raised by an irresponsible selfish person and in turn become an irresponsible selfish person themselves? apparently there are not enough interesting quotes to support an entire forum section anymore. ironically, the barefooting forum is still alive and well...
ha ya..I noticed things are disappearing and getting dispersed the member announcement section vanished yesterday
it's one of those issues you're supposed to have a strong opinion of, either one way or the other. but i find it really hard to. i'm not 'pro life' or 'pro choice', i'm pro not giving a fuck
