I suppose you already have a mattress on the floor, covered in an Indian print sheet. Hmmm, bookshelves made with concrete blocks and 6" boards (or better yet, aged driftwood boards from the levee). Huge cable spools make great tables. IDK if you can find those 1-foot size wooden produce crates that hold LP albums. (Gotta have a stack of LP albums and a turntable stereo system or it will look fony. ) A semi conscious long-haired stoner in sandals, bellbottom jeans and a dashiki, laying on the mattress leaning against the wall will make the room look authentic.
I've got a really beautiful Tie Dyed "Om" tapestry I bought at a Tibetan shop in Berkeley on my wall behind my futon. Peace Out, Rev J

tapestries are always cool. Art..if you have any artist friends get 'em to paint a picture for you. or find cheap prints online. I have spanish moss hung around the top of my windows and I make dried flower arrangements, that always gives a really organic feel to a room. really you should try to express what you like more so than going with whats considered hippie.
