I know most people in these forums do much stronger/harder opiates. I dont but would like some help. Ive never tried to get it prescribed to me before always bought it off people and I cant do that anymore, bills to pay! I was hoping some veterans could give me some advice on how to go about getting it prescribed. I live in cali and have kaiser (i heard kaiser was easy to get it from). Oh also I was hoping someone could explain how people always get it prescribed to them CONSTANTLY. Im not sure if there is a way to convince the doctor to refill it every couple weeks but if there is I would certainly like to know that! Thanks
It's pretty surprising how quick most doctors are to just whip out the Rx pad and write up a script for such a serious cough medicine. Complain you have a persistent dry cough, like you have a bad tickle in your throat that won't go away and it's giving you a sore throat and keeping you up at night, you already tried Robitussin and it didn't help and yadda yadda (it helps if you actually have symptoms to help pull it off ). Usually anytime I go to the doctor with any kind of flu symptoms, I get sent home with a bottle of codeine/prometh whether I want one or not lol.
Thanks for the advice appreciate it. So im assuming this isnt something you can do too often? how do people always get it tho I dont understand, its like the refill it every week or two and always get it.
I don't know how people get it "all the time." I go to the doctor's once a year or less if it's a cold or sickness I can't beat on my own or I'm just too miserable to not be medicated. Usually your insurance won't let you refill a prescription within a certain amount of time to prevent abuse/reselling of the Rx... Maybe some people shop around and have like 4 doctors prescribing it at the same time, I dunno. The only reason I ever have enough codeine/prometh to drink recreationally is because I only use about 2-3 doses while I'm actually sick (because it doesn't really help lol), they give you this giant bottle and there's a bunch left over by the time you're feeling better. The rest of that bottle is enough for 1 or 2, maybe 3 recreational doses.
