I played Trumpet in elementary school. I was the first chair in the Advanced Band by the beginning of Fifth grade. Kids weren't allowed to participate until fourth grade. I played stuff by ear and sight-read music flawlessly. I even won a statewide solo competition of some kind. Sadly my talent was lost to ADHD medications and foster homes.
Then you got me. I play bassoon. but I've never played it in orchestra. I used to play trumpet, but I didn't really care for it.
Marching band/symphonic band...but....but....but....I'm a percussionist. But I'm a respectable one- I pwn at mallets.
That´s loss. I have a friend, great sax player, who contract borreliosis and a lame of face muscles. After years he´s teaching kids in music school.
I play alot of brass synthesize sounds on the guitar.. probably the sounds I like the most are horn, brass, cello .. ect.
I used to play the tuba quite a bit. I haven't really played since I got out of high school and college though. It's hard for me to stay motivated to practice when I don't have a group to practice for.
