Hey everyone, i am looking for a little information on where i should start with meditation. I am a sophomore in high school, and lately i've been very stressed. I've made a goal for the year to become a much better person, and i believe meditation will help me achieve that goal. Can someone refer me to a site that has a lot of information on beginning meditation? Whenever i google i get a bunch of phony sites, i want something legit. Thanks in advance :)

well don't expect meditation to cure your stress
you are stressed from your environment,
    things must be rearranged
it is good to sit like stone statue during the dance

Try meditationiseasy.com. There are a bunch of methods outlined there and you are sure to find something that works for you.

Breath meditation is a good start. Higher Self meditation is where things get really nice. Just start with some form of meditation - it'll do a world of wonders!

Find or create a quiet, relaxing environment. It's especially important, when you're starting out, to avoid any obstacles to attention. Turn off any TV sets, phone(s) or other noisy appliances. If you play music, make sure it's calm, repetitive and gentle, so as not to break your concentration. Meditating outside can be conducive, as long as you don't sit near a busy roadway or another source of loud noise.
