I personally adore writing down my dreams, since they're so vivid and odd and realistic, but usually with a surrealist twist. I love them, even though they scare the fuck out of me half the time.

I like to write about that or write little snippets from my 'characters' minds, it depends. I don't have the attention span to stick with anything much longer than that....

what do you write? poetry? fiction? any recurring imagery or symbolism that you find yourself sticking in there whether you like it or not?

I often find water occurs often in my dreams and writing, or just darkness in general. i like to describe the way people's eyes hold light when it's dark.

Philosophical rants about things and life in general. Mostly just rhetorical diatribe.

yeah, i try to do that sometimes, usually if i'm blazin, but most of the time my beautiful thoughts can't transcribe smoothly to paper.

you should get a blog thing, they're pretty fun even if they're just for yourself. i like em cause i can just open my eyes, snap on my computer and type the dream out of my head. helps sort shit out.

Sex, or mountain climbing. I'd like to write a short story about a chess game, but I don't know how to build a graphic image of a chess board, and the story wouldn't stand without a number of such images. Even then, the story's appeal would be limited to a select few. Readers who can steer me with regard to chess board images, please respond.

A couple of my stories, such as Storm Trooper and Peace Feeler, are historical fiction: events that might have actually occurred, according to my research.

And then there is Cibola, which has been read 2,379 times at this site to date, in which Coronado does find the legendary city of gold.

For my short stories here, go to Display Options (at foot of Writers Forum page), sort on thread starter, ascending, from beginning, and look for dirtydog, at page 12 at this time. Also see HIp Arts and Culture/Love and Sex/Erotica and do same sort, if you are a contributing member 18 or older.

It depends. When i'm writing a novel, i usually find myself writing about addictions and personal struggles. It's odd to me though, since have neither an addiction or any struggle of that nature. When I write poetry, it's usually about (okay, okay, ENTIRELY) about my frustrations with the opposite sex.
