Man I really opened Pandoras Box on this one. I initially thought I was going to get vegitarians pissed off because I threw shit at soy. So thought I'd throw Meat in there too. Wow!

I don't know much about the boys this day and age, but the last time I went into the city, it amazed me how grown up girls looked. I think it has alot to do with the way they dress and put makeup on. When I was growing up, you didn't see this type of attire until a girl was in her late teens. Now you see it when these girls are eleven or twelve years old . Are parents allowing their kids to dress this way or are they changing clothes once they leave the house? Either way, youth is something that should be cherished. Why start looking like an adult when you are still a kid? Oh well, you know what they say- youth is wasted on the young.

For the record I'm not totally unbiased. In the name of full disclosure my father runs "Stone Soup Institute" an international school for sustainable agriculture in Maine.

On the subject of puberty and manipulation of biological clock. I remember reading that during WW II the Nazi's were giving women in the concentration camps a special tea that in young girls stopped and reversed puberty. In adult women it also stopped their reproductive cycles.

    Peace Out,

The hormones are just part of it. The sexualization of girls and young women permeates modern society, pandered to by the media and the advertising industry. I don't for a second believe, for instance, that the current fad of young women shaving their pubic hair is totally about making oral sex "neater". I realize there is often no rhyme or reason to fads, but in this case I think it's pretty clear it's to make the women look younger.

I was 14 when I had my first period, which was probably late even for those days. And we were sexually so innocent. My granddaughter was probably more sophisticated about sexual matters by the time she started high school than I was when I got married.

And I thought that girls were inherantly evil when I was in HS, now....damn. Seeing 14'ers with bodies I only saw on mid 20's....? 20+ years is a while, but damn, they're evolving too fast.

When I was a kid, the common saying was "old enough to bleed, old enough to breed". That may have been true to my dad or granddad, but now? Old enough to bleed does not mean they should breed. Back then it was an anomaly to see 16-17 year old mothers. Now is' 12-14 year olds.

What will it be like in 20 more years?
    Scary!

I have heard that hormones injected into tyson chickens have the most effect on younger sprouts of puberty. And as far as the shaving pubic area, please everyone just rebel against it get some bush there its much nicer looking nowadays.
