Going to eat these things for the first time. Please help.

So today I picked up some mushrooms for the first time. I've done acid, salvia, and mescaline before so I think I'll be fine as far as the trip goes.

Here is what I'm worried about..

On Erowid.org, it says an 1/8 bag is supposed to be 20-40$.
I purchased some "high potency" stuff, and it was 60$ an 1/8 bag. I am supposed to be dividing the bag into 3 parts. One part for me; the other two for my girlfriend and her brother.

Did I get ripped off on the price?
And also, it'll be good enough to make all three of us trip right?
I mean, it was 60$. I sure hope it does; that's really expensive. More expensive than acid, haha.


Someone help me please.

 

Personally, I've never seen shrooms for more than $25 an 8th.
Splitting it 3 ways is roughly 1.2 grams for each of you, which isn't alot.
At most you'll probably get very minor threshold effects.
I would recommend eating atleast half an 8th, especially for the price you paid.

 

I'm gonna have to split it three ways because we all divided the money up. I mean, we're just teens who don't have jobs so 20$ is a lot for just one hit. Haha.

I'm thinking that since it is so expensive that it will be potent enough to make us all have decent trips. If i don't get off on it I think I'll just move on to something else for now. All psychedelics are really rare and expensive here. Acid is 15$ for a low dose. Shrooms are 60$ an 1/8. Mescaline is 25$ a hit. Ecstasy is 15$ a hit.

The only thing I've ever done that I felt was worth the money was Salvia. I tripped harder on salvia than any other thing I've done, haha.

 

It really depends on the potency. I once tripped balls off one little mushroom cap. If these shrooms are as potent as that, then you definitely didnt get ripped off. Its really hard to say if you're getting ripped off or not without knowing the potency. I guess you wont find out until you trip, but if they are really good shrooms then that should be enough.

 

Hope y'all have a good trip man, as others have hinted, shrooms vary SO much in potency/effect, even those from the same batch. 60$ and 1/8 would, IMO, be considered highway robbery, hell a quarter shouldn't even be that much. However, as you have stated, unfortunately demand coupled with scarcity in particular areas drives prices up (from asshole dealers anyhow), hope they are super potent; it's totally possible as I myself have eaten 1.5 grams (just more than you have each) and been surprised. Maybe google mushroom lemon tek and give that a go, never personally have but many claim you get absolute max effects from it. Safe journeys!

i would at least try to lemon tech them. 1.2 grams is not a lot though, and i wouldn't expect a very strong trip. if i were you i'd try to scrounge up 10 more bucks each and get another half eighth, that way you could all eat a half.

 

The problem with that is down here an 1/8 is 60$. So I'd have to pay 30$ for half an 1/8.

 

yeah, 10 bucks X 3. so you'll each have to pay 30 bucks to trip on shrooms. better than paying 20 bucks and barely tripping. maybe you're shrooms are super duper potent, but i doubt 1.2 grams is really gonna give you a real taste of what tripping is like. for your first dose a lot of people think you should go all out. take a half eighth at least.

if you thought it was worth it to get an eighth for 60, then it's worth it to get an eighth and a half for 90.

who told you that you could split an eighth three ways and trip? the dude that sold them, or a friend that actually ate them?

i say give your girlfriend's brother 10 bucks instead and tell him to fuck off...why would you want to trip with him anyways?

 

I used the lemon technique on the stems, and I ate the caps in little gel capsules. I thought it was a very nice first trip on shrooms. It was more happy, giggly, creative, and philosophical than any other psychedelic I've done. One day when I save up the money, I will have to grow these things. Haha.
