How can I have an impact on my community as a whole?

The only advice I can give you is to ask the Universe (which this may be an extention of). I saw a documentary called Fierce Grace about Ram Dass. One of the things that his guru told him was "Serve others, Feed others and remember god. This is the path to enlightenment." I was once at a point in my life when I asked how I could do this. Within a couple of days I was out of money, the water was being worked on in the shithole I was living in, I was getting evicted, and I had no food. I went down to the local food bank and they asked me if I wanted to volunteer. I have found that tme best things that happen for me in life happen when I am helping others. I saw another documentary called "Champion" about Danny Trejo star of Machete where he talks about alot of the horrible stuff he did to others in his life before getting sober and once he became a drug and alcohol counselor he kind of fell into acting roles even though he had no intention of ever becoming an actor. It kind of gets dropped in your lap.

Haven't Posted in awhile. I wanted to let you all know that I took a stand and started a Chapter of the Student Peace Alliance at my college campus. Tomorrow is the day where student government votes it official or not. We have been working out in since the middle of September.

 

changing the community as a whole... coordinate a million person march in D.C. and thats where youll let your message be heard.. then theyll listen to ya...holding a door, smiling, every one does that and it doesnt change shit... either that or burn stuff...

 

i take my kid to church, im lucky cuz we have a really cool pastor, the message is stand for something, like there are ppl in this world who want to kill christians and most of us dont even know wtf we are. what is there in our world to work with. just teach ppl to make a difference in their world one day there will be a better world.
