i too am proud to eb a stoner. I make straight A's in school and plan on attending a good college and making something outta myself one day. I'm studying for my license and am searching for a job to save up and buy myself a car. I feel pity for all those misinformed who say marijuana makes you lose focus in your life.
i was already unmotivated before i started smoking weed because i dont need good grades in school to go where i wanna go in life though i try to keep a c avarage
Im naturally bad at school too. Im the type of kid which is incredibly smart that cant function at school.. You know like einstein... wright brothers.. etc haha I find most people who actually take the time to do good at school complete dip shits. Getting good grades at school is easy if you want to spend the time doing the work. I never saw a purpose of slaving away on homework when i just learned the shit at school and know it fine, so I never do it. Its a waste of time. Its just memorizing stupid facts. No Im not calling history, science, whatever class stupid, im calling what they teach stupid. They dont go incredibly in depth. Its just little peices here and there about somthing. They try to teach you as little as they can in as long of an amount of time as they can. School children remind me of monkeys. They memorize certain tasks, in the monkeys case sticking shapes into the correct place that is also shaped like the peice, in the school kids case striving away at school work which is pathetic and they get letters and numbers. I laugh at kids when they are so excited about their straight A's. Im not saying all kids who try to do good at school are complete dumbshits that arent aware of anything but most are. They slave away at school constantly and get no real life expierence dealing with people or becoming aware of anything. If you are out in life to make a load of money and be a selfish asshole, then go for the good grade route and get into an awesome college. If youre out to live life, not make a career, do what you want, when you want, not on anyone elses agenda, be like me, go homeschooled, teach yourself more than you would ever learn in a classroom, then go to a smaller liberal arts college that doesnt take a lot to get into. If you compiled a portfolio (sp) of your homeschooled stuff and it was impressive, you know you could easily get into a good college. I know the acceptance rate is higher in homeschoolers than it is in kids that go to a public school for MIT. Basicl, if thirty homeschoolers applied there and 200 public school kids applied, a higher percentage of the homeschoolers would get in than the public school kids. Trying to put it into a way that it doesnt sound like I meant they accept more homeschoolers. You just have to be able to push yourself in homeschool and have a will to learn. Ugh I need sleep....
That is true. I am rather intelligent, i do well on tests. I just dont take the time to do the homework, and be a slave to school. If i were to do all my homework, it would be school, work, sleep, school, work, sleep. I personally would like to occupy my time with something that will actually help me in the future, like playing music and composing new songs(since thats what i plan on doing in life.)
interesting concept dude. i beg to differ not much but some. I am homeschool and until this year(my first homeschool year) i made strate F's and D's for 3 years in a row. With homeschool i dont have the distraction of friends and listening to a teacher and getting in trouble. My homeschool is easy all i have to do is read a chapter take a quiz, reada chapter take a quiz, witht he occasional test thrown in. i love to get baked(havent been for a while as u guys know) and sit outside and do my work. its so relxaing rather then sitting in a a cold classroom listening to a drone go on and on about stuff thats not even gonna be on the midterm. i dont know what im differing from tho cuz i jsut smoked a bunch of resin and took some percsi aint got no legssss
high school = busy work its like a test to see if your gonna be another one of the worlds many cattle. There are few that stand outside this main herd.
^agreed. the true way to do well in school is to figure out the standardized test. horrorbusiness04 on ehre put random answers on his final exam for spanish last year and got a 79 passing him for the year. and i know a guy in college that put all random answers on his SAT cuz he didnt give a damn and he got a 1460. its really amazing that our futures are in the hands of stupid bubbles.
In my eyes, the ones who are smart and do well in school continue on the trend we have now with minor changes. The few that stand out in character etc and just dont quite fit are the ones that lead the revolutions.
edit: stoned rant sorry its long, but if you can, you may as well read it hehe though i think a lot is obvious hehe its funny to see nearly everyone has said they are smart, but just dont do well at school. heaps of stoners say that. in the end, most are kidding them on a practical scale. stoners DO have an intelligence. us stoners often have much wider minds than non stoners. probably due to having their minds opened much more. other psychedelic drug users are the same. the only problem is that the main power of most of our minds doesnt convert onto the materialistic world we live in. weed often makes people get worse at school (not always of course, but in truth, often) because they become dissinterested in the construct lived in and out, and because the less intelligent ones dont know much to start off with, this just means they have nowhere to go except be stoned. the smarter ones, find ways to use the new depth of mind. but overall, there is a drop in the left side of the brain activity. how many stoners do you know who are trully organised and structured and concrete thinking in their ways? marijuana boosts thinkning of the right side classification, and this is not good for most people in todays society. artists and creators and entertainers often earn next to nothing witout the help of a very innovative design, or sex appeal, and a good agent/finance crew. now i also say ive got smarter on an inner level since ive started smoking weed. as a person i think ive grown morally through my many ponderings of sociology, and my connection with nature and science has grown stron through my many intense moments by myself, my connection to society and my interpretation of people and their motives has also strenghtened, with my many intense moments with other people. and im a musician mainly and an actor, i want to be a star, but i whenever i say that to friends and stuff, they laugh, because thats the sad culture at my school (cynicle and unssuportive and demeaning). and so i have to say i dont know waht i want to be, and it always comes across as me loosing motivation for life. im another hater of the whole academic scene. i dont really want any jobs that require you to go to university anyway. but i know that i have indeed, lost some grip on my old life. ive lost motivation to do stuff, because im lazy and my biggest problem is getting resources. i love doing actions.. but not getting resources. when i cook, i hate having to go shopping. when i make thigns, i hate missing pieces or materials. i usually jsut put it off until i get everyhting which often doesnt happen. and so since ive been a stoner its got worse. i used to be lazy.. so now im really lazy lol. since the start of highschool, my grades have dropped slowly and steadily in many areas. the world sees this sort of thing as kids getting lazy and getting stupid. but the realist for a great deal of them is that natural talent means less and less as school progresses, and the skills that stoners are dissinterested in, with organisation and homewrok motivation and stuff, becomes the real decider of marks. so it doesnt matter if us stoners may or may not have increased awareness of certain thigns or intelligence or thinknign skills, for almost all stoners, we have lost some old connections, but it took a lot of self inspection to realise it for myself, and im sure its the same with many who say they have only got smarter. society will never see you or take you as being smarter.. so you may as well not be smarter. just use your new mind to be different from the normal. then tehre are the many stoners who manage to run normal working class lives. these re the people who find balance. the people who have self discipline. im not one of those people fuck sorry i must have gone on a stoned rant, i dont remember much about this, but i have a feeling i wrote it about 5 minutes ago byie

Willy Wonka, what kind of life do you want for yourself where you don't need schooling? Sounds cool Man, you just summed up what I was thinking, after reading what Magic Mushy said, and what I already thought. Basically, we are all just trained monkeys, and whether the treat is an A in science or a bonus on your paycheck (or the paycheck itself) we're all just slaving away for someone else. Bill, you make sense but I don't think it's right to say stoners are less smart in any way. They just shifted their focus off of what matters and what intelligence means. I know you said that basically but I'm just reiterating it. Anyways, school has nothing to do with intelligence. It's all about how well you can memorize things. I have a great memory so I did great in school, even in college (where you'd think intelligence would become important). It's the same as high school, just more at once. I'd see all my friends reading and rereading the text to study, when I'd only have to read it once, or not read it at all and just listen in class and I was fine for the test. I still had a B+ average (4.0 at the 2 years of community college). I'm not bragging here (i hope) just saying that intelligence is NOT measured in school or even really used very often. Intelligence has been forgotten, because I believe intelligence has to do with creative power. Not just artisticly, but the ability to take information and do something new with it, like drawing new conclusions; as well as having to do with critical thinking/analysis. These things are hardly ever done in school (in my experience). It's funny because the few times this was tested in schools are the few times I felt I really had to work to do well. But no, nowadays, it's all just memorization and regurgitation.
im going to live and farm on a commune i will not need schooling for that i know how to farm already and thats the only skill i will need but i would also like to set up some sports and music programs at the commune once my family dies and i inherit some money(i know thats a terriable way to get money) i will open my own commune.
Sounds cool, maybe I'll join you. But do it in someplace warm, haha. Yeah, I have no farming skills but I'm definitely considering living on a commune. I'd learn fast enough, and it'd be cool to be working for something I know is good (food!) and not some corporate whore.

im also proud...weed hasnt helped nor hurt me in school because ive always been a stupid kid when it comes to school and homework and junk...but weed has made my life go by much nicer and smoother...i love mary jane
