I don't think I am voting anymore

So, He actually said, "I want to destroy civil liberties?"

Not literally.
But his voting record certainly suggests such thing.
Patriot Act, Warrentless Wire tapping, Internet Takeover, etc, etc.

 

I haven't followed his voting record, so, I'll take your word for it. But my impression has always been that politicians aren't usually out to "get us" with their legislation. I think congressional votes are more often a self-serving act than anything else.
