I was raped once by an older girl. I was half passed out and couldn't move a muscle. It was a terribly digusting feeling afterward. On the other hand I was stupid to get so drunk in that situation.

Even if you were simply intoxicated and didn't say no imo it would have been rape. But the fact that you were both intoxicated and said no there is no doubt that is was rape. Trish you can't go on blaming yourself forever yaknow? it will eat you up inside and will make you an unhealthy person. I think the reason that this is bothering you more than the other time that was violent is because you have guilt and for some reason think you had control over the situation. You have to think of what would have happened if you would have been more forcefull you could have been seriously injured and raped. But seriously Trish if you wanna talk pm me :)

This is a bit of a departure from the original question, but it is (in my humble opinion) pretty relevant:

why, how, does this happen so often?

Guys can be confused by what girls mean when they put off the idea of sex - do they mean "let's make out instead" or do they mean "not right now, maybe later" "absolutely not, never." "I'm not really in the mood - yet" "I want to think about it and let you know" "I'm horney, but not ready to fuck" "I don't know if I should do this" "I don't want you to think i'm an easy ho"

so, we tell teenage boys "no means no", except that it sometimes doesn't.

Because if "no means no", not "lets see what happens" or "maybe" or, "seduce me, touch me, play with my clit, make me cum first"
then girls have to say "yes", and "yes" to a young boy means "gratify yourself now"
obviously that's not what girls want either, cuz then you get situations where she consents and feels used because she gets nothing out of the encounter.

This stuff is so hard to talk about, but obviously it should be talked about. Because it seems these situations happen most often with teenagers with little experience. And I think often it's a case of mixed messages/ bad communication. Boys don't learn to listen to a first refusal. Girls don't learn to be forceful, even if that means "not nice" a "bitch", or losing friends. girls don't know how to communicate their sexual desires. Boys don't know how to interpret those desires...

in the end, i think that many of these bad situations come out of that - men/boys who don't understand that a refusal has taken place, and/or women/girls who don't know how to get it through their thick horney heads.
or maybe I just don't want to believe that so many men out there are just peices of shit who don't care if she wants it, only if they can get away with it.
