or are there others who find it hard not to hate america for the way they are constantly trying to globalise....correction americanise the world? they have total intolerance towards any other country that could be as powerful as them and they are constantly trying to control other countries apologies to any americans here, i do my best not to hate you but it's hard i admit the "values" that your country holds are something i see as intolerable apologies to americans once again peace & war
Yeah. It's a very sore spot for us 'Americans' too that just don't like what's going on. It makes me sick to my stomach thinking about how people might percieve me just because I live here. All of it being completely not who I am. There's people all over this country that are just like everybody else. They just want to live a life, maybe raise a family, have good days.. that don't care about expanding the empire or shoving their beliefs in other peoples faces. Good people who would be quite happy just to invite you over for dinner and good conversation. Trust me, it's tough to live here and be percieved as unpatriotic because not only is our govt seeking to conquer the rest of the world they want to completely control us too. Everyday it's something new that takes more and more of our 'freedom' away. Well I don't know if that helps but know that a bunch of us are with the rest of the world.
We are all so isolated over here that many of us have absolutely no idea, and don't care or even think about how the rest of the world preceives us. We aren't raised with a good grasp on the rest of the world because we are so far from it. And our gov't and media does very little to help the situation, because rather than bring the world to us, it pushes ourselves on the world. We seem to have little understanding of cultures and values other than our own, and we can't seem to realize that our way of life is not the only right way (if it even is right) to live. But that is a broad generalization. There are many of us who do care, and believe me, many of us americans who despise these "values." Unfourtunatly we seem to be on the losing end so far. But I think that more than those of us americans who either approve or disapprove of american policy there are those who just don't know or care. And no apologies necessary...our country needs to know what the rest of the world thinks about us. Diplomacy is so important in this day and age, when our nations are rubbing soldiers now more than ever. I love the diversity we have on this earth, and I would hate to see the world become generically american. I am afraid that is a road we may be heading down...among others...and I am sure it will be a rocky one.
I don't hate America - I hate aspects of our society and government, but I couldn't honestly say I hate every thing with any connection the the States. How could anyone?
I, for all practical purposes, "hate" America. We suck. Sorry! But, yeah, some of us are trying to change that, wish us luck!
You know what.... I don't hate the Grateful Dead, I dont hate the common folk who have no clue. I just don't. They are being duped. Here's your daily load of bullshit mam'.
I certainly don't hate America, but I can see why other nations might. Our gov't, or at least certain members, have put the country in the role of being a world 'bully'. I don't agree with the way the gov't does things much of the time.
