does anyone know any good books about identifying wild plants, like fungus, trees, etc. or any that talk about wild pshychedelic plants. thank you for your answers.
id be happy to do an online study with you. i have some online resources i can dig up. i have a little knowledge also because me and my wife have and will continue to use wild edibles as a resource. tons of info online too. but somone stuff is just lacking... great to go to a large library in your town . they will have edibles for your area
Are you looking to just find plants that will get you full or provide nutritional value? Or are you looking for psychedelic type plants? If you're just looking for edible wild plants, you shouldn't have a hard time finding a book that will help you out. Just check out Amazon.I've got one right now that's pretty good. Just called 'Edible Wild Plants'. Nobody here can recommend something more specific though, as it varies drastically depending on where you're at.
What the others have said, you will need something more specific for at least your general area. There are some great books out there though, but depending on where you live may limit your options. The internet has plenty of information though. Have a look for bushfood forums and such, they're always a great place to ask people questions and read through old threads digging up all the info you can. I've got a big piece of online text from a book from Erowid on Australian natural highs. It's a great source of information. Here is the link to a non area specific page: http://www.erowid.org/psychoactives/faqs/natural_highs_faq.shtml As Wiseman said though, what do you want the plants for. There's a difference between living off the land with these foods providing you all your nutritional values to keeping yourself alive for a short time in something such as a survival situation.
the library is a great way to learn about the plants specifically where you live...and also there should be a section about like animals and stuff if your into hunting..and also what bugs to watch out for...and shit like that...library...place of miracles!
http://www.google.com/search?client...bles+of+iowa&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 Theres a months worth of materials for you on the first page. Always need to be specific to at least which state you're in.
