Heyo! Ok well I finally managed to pull my nose stud out to try and change it. I've had it for about 9-10 weeks now, so should have been fine to try and change piercing. What my problem is though, is I can't get the hoop in. It's one of those guys that have about an 1/8th of missing of the ring, with a flat plate on one end. Suppose to put it on through the inside of the piercing, so as that the plate sits on the inside of the nose. However when I tried to put it on this evening, I couldn't for the life of me find the hole on the inside. Not to mention such a small ring is hard to handle accurately in a small area with big fingers.. So does anyone have any tips for me to try get it in next time I try? Anyone else had the same problem? Thankyou
I've never seen a ring like that before but it doesn't sound like the best jewelry option for a nostril piercing. The flat end that you speak of is a perfect harbor for bacteria in a new piercing. I would just get a regular CBR (captive bead ring) or even a seamless ring so you can put it in through the front. 9-10 weeks is still pretty fresh for a cartilage piercing, so expect it to not be fully healed for another 2 months at the very least, even if it feels fine. The membrane skin on the inside of your nose is much different than on the outside and will shrink very quickly when jewelry is removed, and I'm assuming you have a small gauge piercing so I would think it would be extremely difficult to impossible to get a ring like that in without the help of your piercer. Good luck.
When I first changed mine, I couldn't put the new one in. I tried for ages, but couldn't get it. It would probably be best to put the old one back in, until you either buy a new one or get some help in putting it in.
It may be to large, from what i ahve noticed studs are smaller then rings. I couldnt get my CBR back in after work one day so I went to my guy and he had to restrech my piercing to put the ring in for mer. I agree sweet on your ring id get a CBR it wont collect ickys, it wont fall out, and CBRs generaly have a faster healing time. My ring moves all over the place and the only time i touch it is to put the ball back up into my nose.
Ok thanks The old one is back in. I'll wait for a bit longer before I try it again. I know it does fit though as I put it through backwards just to see. I'm not a fan of the captive bead rings as such (I am assuming the bead hangs out and is visible? If not ignore that comment..), so I might try and find one of those seamless hoops if I can. It's one like this btw: Thanks again
Usualy you can not see my ball because its in my nose, but sometimes it moves out even when its out its so small most people do not notice it anyway. It moved a lot more when it was first healing and then when I ripped a stud out of my nose, I snaged it made the hole bigger it wa a mess. But as long as its not mad it me the ball stays in my nose for weeks if not months at a time.
