I've alwaysed found it ironic how all of these "freedom of expression" type liberal artist are so admiring of Che and other socialist/communist figures. It's like they don't realize that their artistic freedoms would be heavily censored by these types of governments. Che would have banned Madonna's music without thought. LOL

I'm a communist and an artist.

    Che Guevera is a cock-mongler.
The only reason he is associated with the communist movement is because a bunch of assholes decided that their militant radicalism should be named communism. This started a long time ago and people seem to think that's what they really are.

Part of being a communist is giving a big "FUCK YOU" to all conventions and inventing new ideas of communal government. When I say all conventions I mean ALL conventions. Even past "communist" institutions. A communist who praises the past with a symbol of a confused, violent radical is a very sad and confused communist.

"The Beatles are not merely awful. They are so unbelievably horrible, so appallingly unmusical, so dogmatically insensitive to the magic of the art, that they qualify as crowned heads of antimusic."

    -William F. Buckley, Jr.

    so?

Well, Che is the epitome of the proletarianist wise thinking. Listen to Bob Dylan and the Beatles. The bourgoisie banned all of these music from their spoiled children abandoned with their nannies in their palatial homes.

or Rage Against the Machine's music for that matter. They tend to be Libertarian Socialist in their outlook, where Che was one of the key figures in shaping the July 26th movement into a Marxist-Leninist, pro-soviet cause. I don't really know much about Che, but the people Lenin went after the most through the Cheka were the left-libertarian opposition like Luxemburgists, Anarchist Christians, Council Communists, etc etc.

These neo-feudalists who went by the name "communist" also called their selves democrats and republicans (note lower case). That doesn't mean true democracy and true republicanism are bad things.

Yah, I'm an anarcho-communist at heart, but I don't see much use for stupid teenagers who run around in tee-shirts with red stars, hammers and sickles, and prints of che's face on them. Chances are, they don't understand true communism and will probably leave their trotskyist fad after reading Ayn Rand or watching an episode of Penn & Teller to to take on some equally stupid right wing fad ideology.

They're just as bad as these atheists who become fundamentalist Christians.
