So my friend is growing three plants growing in soil under CFLs. The air is enriched with CO2. They're now entering the 8th week after the lights were adjusted to 12/12 and the nutes were switched to a bloom formula. Each plant is from a different strain - the plant in the first two pics supposedly has a 'flowering window' of 7-9 weeks, the next plant 8-10 weeks, and the last one takes 9-11 weeks. This is his first grow and he'd like to harvest them at a point in time that will result in a healthy yield but still produce a heady Sativa high. Right now he plans to harvest once ~70% of the pistils are orange/brown. None of the leaves have turned yellow yet, although some of the bottom leaves on the first plant are starting to droop. Thoughts, feedback?? How is this shaping up for a first grow? My buddy is pretty excited. PS- I just joined this site today and look forward to chatting with everyone!
Looking nice though still got a few weeks left till harvest i'd say. By this stage you should of stopped all feeds in favour of plain water which will improve the taste. Yep 70-75 per cent brown is the mark ya looking for you will also start to see the tops of the main buds gets longer and not swelling a sure sign the time is right. Note. Not such a bad thing if ya cant get plant to yellow up on first try as long as you dont feed for last 2 weeks is good enough and will make a re veg easier if ya wanna go down that line afterwards.
