Ok here is the scenario. You live in apartment buildings or housing in suburb. You are out walking your pet or just exercising, you pass by a residence that has open blinds your able to view inside see person is in the nude. If you are the person outside do you feel you are in the wrong for looking in or that person is in the wrong for allowing you to see them in their own home? Also would you be ok with your own blinds being opened if chance people can look in and see you in the nude?

At the end of the day it would not matter nudity is no big deal and if they wish to do so in their own home good luck to them if people are offended then dont look .I am not gonna live in a dark house because people have a problem with nudity .I dont understand why people have such a hangup with it.Nudity is normal and if society has a problem with that then thats their problem .What ever happened to freedom of choice ,if it aint hurting anyone else then they shouldnt care.

I fully agree with you there but over here in the states a person who is looking into someone else window still feels they have right to go to complex office to make complaint that they do not like seeing it instead of just looking other way. I recently began to feel it is my right to have my blinds closed or open when I am nude.

    > you pass by a residence that has open blinds your able to view inside see
    > person is in the nude.

I think a house, a flat, an appartement etc. are some legally and socially protected "save" areas. So everyone is free to act there as she/he likes it, as long as the behaviour has no negative impacts on others (eg. waking up all neighbours by playing rock guitar at night).

So i think as long as you only walk around nude in your flat, there is no reason for others to complain, as they are not forced to look through the windows. This could be another thing if you eg. flaunt yourself naked on a street side balcony, where the passers-by unavoidably have to look at you. But this also needs that someone feels bothered by your behaviour, as long as all feel fine with, it's still no legal problem.

    > If you are the person outside do you feel you are in the wrong for looking in or that person is in the wrong for allowing you to see them in their own home?

I don't feel wrong to look at someone naked. But i'd feel somehow wrong to stare into other's private home, no matter what the persons inside do.

By chance over the years i've seen people going naked in their flat, kissing, crying, laughing, disputing, even having sex. I never had the idea that it should have been their duty to hide this from me by closing their blinds or shutters. Hey, they just are inside their private cave!

    > Also would you be ok with your own blinds being opened if chance people can look in and see you in the nude?

My own flat isn't ground floor, so there is no chance for passers by to look inside. Some neighbours might have a peek now and then from their own flats, but i think this is no problem. I also use my terrace naked if i feel like and the weather is fine, sometimes friends do join. The few neighbours who are able to look there, are used to it and don't complain. When i moved in there, i asked the ones who were already living there and got an ok. The ones that moved in later just had to stand it *lol*.

To cut a long story short: i guess the whole thing does depend more on the behaviour and self-concept of the involved people, than on the situation itself.

    Take care.

I am not exactly a nudist but i think if someone wants to have their windows open and be nude in their home they have every right. If they have a problem with being seen then they should close their window from view and if the person has a problem with seeing then they should not look.

That is a great response pixy.
I don't like to be naked all the time or go anywhere naked or just hang around naked with a bunch of people but after work and school when i get home the firwst thing i do when i get there is take all of my clothes off and if i want my windows open then they will be open.

Im sure some of my neighbors have seen me strollin my igloo nude, blinds are almost always open and it doesnt really bother me if anyone does. If I see someone else, its probably some fine lady Ill stay and watch until she realizes and closes the blinds haha

  9. I open my windows every morning first thing. I never dress till later. I have absolutely no idea if my neighbours or passers-by can see me or not, I've never given it any thought. I think it would be a whole different ball game if the naked person was an exhibitionist and was actively flaunting themselves but someone going about their business in their own home, not a problem, and if someone does catch a glimpse of them, that person just needs to look the other way. If not, we're entering the realms of voyeurism ;)

I always feel talking to neighbors is the noble thing to do but you never know some may go right away to police or management and complain about just knowing they have nudist neighbors.

I would not be offended. I would carry on walking as normal and merely glance not stare. I'd only let the person know if it was near a school or park where children are around.

I'd worry somewhat if it seemed as if someone were deliberately trying to be seen--an exhibitionist, in fact. But even then, I think I'd leave it to someone else to raise the alarm, if they thought it was worth getting involved. It's not as if the perpetrator of an awful crime is going to escape if I don't raise the alarm!

But if it's just someone going about their business, no problem. If they get into trouble, I'm sorry but it was never anything to do with me.

My body is the contact sphere to the world,so whether i am naked or clothed, its still me.I pay the rent, its my home, and whether you see me naked or not,it does'nt bother me,and anyway,i am always naked at home, and the doors and windows are always open,so the neigbours will see me naked. The Xoi San (bushmen) have a good saying, "If you look,it's your own fault!" My late teen nudist son used to say: "My penis is not unique nor special,he gets hard, and goes limp, its just that he's naked, and I dont have to hide him,so look as much as you want, you can't touch him.",and he was more naked than me,and always outside, and his textile friends had to accept him as he was,or leave, he never got dressed when they visited, and i share his legacy,he made the best impression as a nudist on me,and even though I raised him a nudist,he was the best nudist rollmodel to me,and taught me freedom! CHEERS CHAMP,HERES TO U , Whereever you are...I'm sure he'll turn heaven into nudists!

A private home is just that, to wander around as you wish, how you wish, as I do.

However, complications at law can develop in certain situations e.g. if blinds are open and a nude person/s is clearly visible from the street, in some jurisdictions (in Australia) this is wilful and obscene exposure and people witnessing this call the Police, who then come to investigate the complaint. This is not universal. Police can be clumsy in determiningg exactly what offence (quite often none!) has occurred and what to file. What happens depends on the intent of the person in the home vs the intrusive/invasive nature of the person on the street e.g. should he/she have been staring? Most complaints are thrown out because a stranger on the street does not have the power to determine how a home resident should walk about or be displayed passively (from room to room, garden to door, etc.), and in the case of nudists, this can mean defeat on the part of the complainant who is conveniently counter-accused of invading private space, even from the street. Swing to a more extreme viewpoint: if two nudists were having sex right in front of the window and people gathered below to witness the event, what are the chances that a complaint would be lodged with the Police, and how would it be treated? In places like hip and hippy Nimbin in northern New South Wales, such a scenario is as commonplace as roaming the street in a sarong with a hairy chest and a bong tucked under the arm, and no big deal in such a free-living society.

If you're right up against the glass it might be kinda suspect, but i wouldn't be nervous about closing the blinds unless its night and you have your lights on...
