Mirror gazing is something that I have been interested in for awhile. It's supposed to allow you to view many things when done properly, such as spirits, other dimensions,or even the universe. The medical community says these visions are nothing more than hallucinations, but many others disagree and swear it's real. So I'm thinking of attempting it by building something called a psychomanteum chamber which is nothing more than a small dark room with a large mirror on one wall surrounded with a black material, and a slightly reclined chair that faces the mirror from approx. 3 feet away, and a low watt light(15 watt or so) behind the chair. The chair is positioned so I can't see any part of my own reflection, just a clear, dark, optical depth. Does anyone have any experience with this technique or mirror gazing in general, and if so were your experiences good or bad? Any input on this subject would be appreciated.
All of that really isn't necessary. You can use any reflective surface - including a bowl of water that's been colored dark (use food coloring, or ink), or get yourself a black mirror (made of black obsidian crystal, usually). I've had some honest to God awful experiences with it. Sometimes you see things you don't want to - deaths, once. Other experiences have been alright, like being able to tell a friend her best friend is alright in a storm because his car pulled over at a gas station. It's odd, but you get used to it. The room could work if you really want it to, but it seems too extreme for something that's really simple.
What you are doing is Scrying. Any reflective service works. The principle behind the seeing is to mentally get out of the way. Much like in meditation. Here you are leaving yourself open to what comes through unless you are traveling with intent. I was teaching this in a channeling class one day. This woman let out a muffled scream and tears started rolling down her face. She said she saw her mother who had died several years ago. Often mediums, Psychic, and Channeler's will use this method as it seems easier for entities and spirits to make a connection this way. I asked the woman if she had been thinking of her mother. She replied indeed she had been as she felt her mother was very close during that week. It was her mothers birthday the day before and she had wished she could see her mother to talk to her. The scrying made the connection. A person who is scrying becomes the connection and is responsible for what they bring through. Astral spirits and entities like fear as this feeds them. So when we bring something through and fear the results the spirits and entities are overjoyed. They also enjoy the wow factor and emotions. They will cling to their connection like lint from a dryer clings to a sweater. This tool can also be used for gathering information such as in a murder investigation, or family history and such. This tool can also be used to release spirits, or entities who feel trapped in this astral realm. Often spirits and entities who have not resolved an issue, or faced the karma of their choices and will use this medium of scrying to find peace and closure. What happens to the individual trying this is they enter a trance like state and become like an energy connection that is being plugged in. They become the conduit for the exchange. Psychic wounding does happen when the individual is not aware of what they are opening to, or doing. Depending on the depth and awareness a person has, once they have opened this place inside them, must also know how to cleanse and clear the attachments of the psychic energy, or lint factor. In the end as in the beginning the one making the connection has the power to break the connection. This is not the spirits fault for coming in with their baggage where they were invited. Cleansing methods are often visualizing a white light around you, burning sage, opening to divine Love, releasing fear, and with intent sending the entity or spirit toward the light...to name a few. Then do not with your emotions and thoughts entertain that which has gone. Spirits and entities will often use dreams, or periods of depression and emotional imbalance to make sure they must leave. This is just a nut shell explanation.
My cousin said he saw something in the mirror once. I was over at his house one night smoking weed. He always had the best weed! This was years ago when we were teens. We had the house to ourselves that night and we were bored. He was in the bathroom and called me to see something. I nervously looked in the door wondering why he wanted me to come in there, lol. He was standing in front of the mirror and said look at this. I looked and he said see the mirror behind us (both sides of the bathroom had large mirrors). I said yeah, so. He said that he'd heard that if you stared long enough, you could see infinity (or something like that). I looked and noticed that the reflections were off of each other over and over again, getting smaller each time. I thought that was pretty cool. I left him in the bathroom staring at the mirror. Some time later he came running out looking scared as hell. He was white as a sheet and his eyes were huge! He said he saw a dark demonic looking figure looking back at him. He said he thought maybe it was his inner demon. I laughed and went into the bathroom again (he wouldn't go back in). I stood in front of the mirror and looked at the trippy infinity like reflections once more. I kind of felt nervous, like I just might see something I didn't want to see, lol. So I got the hell out of there myself. I really didn't believe him at the time, but I hadn't ever heard of anything like that back then. Now I wonder what he really saw that night. I haven't heard from him in 15 years, and I don't know where he is. I'm going to try and find out how to get ahold of him from someone. I'll let you know what he said if I can find him..
It's also interesting to stand in the bathroom and stare into your own eyes for as long as you can. Very trippy.
I remember trying that in a candlelit room once... after a while there seemed to be a transformation and the face looking back at me wasn't mine anymore. It wasn't scary, more puzzling, and of course as soon as I began to think conciously about it, the effect faded and it was me again. Your cousin had never read any of Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels... stuff in them about the perils of getting between two mirrors, including the infinity thing.
i just tried it in my bathroom and nothing happend, any suggestions, i really wan to see spirits and other dimensions in my bathroom mirror.
I'm no expert on this, I have'nt even attempted it yet. But it's my understanding that being in the right state of mind is necessary for it to work. If you're just mess'in around I doubt you'll see anything.
Love it! havent done it in a long long time- it opens up alot and gives you a energy of other worldly beings - seeing is believing and Ive seen some awesome things. I have to agree with old crone, lady you right some wicked posts!
im guessing if you know about this phenomenon then many people would have experienced it right? so what mindset were all these people including you in? (do you mean lsd?)
I gazed into a mirror once. I saw this girl in there. She must have been in her early 20s. Brown hair, these big, blue eyes which stared into mine and gave me chills. The air went cold. I've never been given a logical explanation for what I saw. I avoid mirrors now.
I never took drugs when scrying never had anything mind altering in my system for 8 years while I was working magikal practices. The two really don't mix and you need to be aware that working deep universal key unlocking knowledge can be harmful to your mental health, if your getting high also. Drugs have there own mysteries to tell and doors to unlock as does working the craft/hedge arts. So no is the answer to your question for me personally, no drugs required or history of doing drugs....
It's interesting some of you have seen or heard of evil things within the mirror. I personally have only seen through myself. In a way it instantly tunes me into the "information channel," the same state of being that meditation attains. But many times I've felt as if I could have gotten trapped. Or I have already.....
There is a strong link with mental health issues the occult and drugs- you work it out! I also said 'can'
I, too, have seen just effing awful things in a mirror. However, for me, crystal scrying is different and I found I would be able to look at/accept those "visions", if that makes sense. The stuff in mirrors bothered(s) me enough that I don't look into one any more often than I have to.
Because we are Essence, Energy, and Spirit we are natural reflectors. Mirror Gazing is a bit like being a reflector on a dark road at night and high beams bouncing off it. You are getting a part of what is there, not the whole of the landscape. The reason this works is because individual grid patterns open to connections and transmission because of the shared intent. Drug use, and mental health, or lack of can open the connection and weaken the individuals reason for interacting, thus helping them face subconscious memories, or fears. Entities and spirits are more than willing to help manifest living energy pools as they feed off these places. The "evil things" we see are more about the judgments and personal attachment, with our emotions that bring forth what seems evil. I was doing a mirror gazing once and saw this bloodied face etched in pain. My first reaction was to withdraw. Then I decided to grow light all around to get a larger view. What I saw was a car accident in the future. I knew the girls face. She stopped in later that day. Asked what I was doing. I told her and explained what I saw. She smiled and said she felt I was often entertaining and to prove me wrong she was going to take her car to the garage. She said she would send me the bill. An hour later I got a call from her. The garage refused to let her drive her car because of a broken front tie-rod end that was wedged in place by a piece of metal. They said had that broken completely she most likely would have flipped the car or gotten killed in an accident. I did not get her bill. Knowing our own emotions and our inner most self will give us clearer insight into what we are seeing. Sometimes Spirits will come through because they need help. Sometimes there is a tear in our own energy body that works like a wound with an infection drawing like energy to a single focused point or connection. The bottom line is we are responsible for making, keeping, or breaking the connection. Entities and Spirits rely on us to know or stick our proverbial heads in the sand. They use us as we use them. We are not here to prove or give proof. This is each individuals responsibility and to demand someone "Prove it" only shows your own ignorance and emotional immaturity. The draw backs are about giving away your power and responsibility letting the Entities and Spirits do as they wish. Kind of like inviting in unwanted guest and surprised when they take up residence and come from a place of no respect for your space. Respect goes both ways. The benefits are along the same lines. Like purpose, Respect, Intent, and agreements that serve the small and larger purpose for each. The benefits are about awareness on both sides. The images that come up are personal and not personal. They have only the energy you give them. What you do with these images is yours, and your responsibility. You can use them for self destruction, dis-ease, or to feed your emotions. You can also use them for a an excuse or distraction from entering your own wellness and wholeness thus continuing the behavior you know. This can become an addiction in and unto itself for both sides. As our emotions become tools...Not Weapons... we embrace our own accountability and responsibility in the choices we make. We will only see and hear that which is around us with the same level and depth of clarity we see and hear our self. Becoming Love is our guiding light and ultimate healing protection where knowledge and closure are journeys as we face that which we are created from. To know thyself, is to know that which you see.
