46% of Americans Now Support Marijuana Legalization

    Next Tuesday California will decide whether to make recreational use of marijuana legal and treat it like alcohol. Meanwhile a new Gallop poll shows 46% of Americans now favor the legalization of cannabis, and not just for medical patients. The number still in opposition to cannabis legalization is down to 50%.

    This marks the highest number of people ever in favor of cannabis across the nation!

    I swear I saw it once 51% or better.. are them polls any more accurate than the polls created by users here?..

    :) That I do not do but I still think it matters that this passes. Change is long overdue.

    The problem is that so many do not vote and they need to. Your opinion when sitting at home does not matter. Voting matters.

    i would like to see state-specific statistics on this. I have a feeling in states where medicinal marijuana is already accepted the percentage of people favoring legalization is much higher. Whereas in my state, right in the middle of the bible belt, its probably more like 20%
