This thread was done a while back I know but this is a revamped version lol. I was looking through my dads amazing record collection last night and i found all his jefferson airplane/ jefferson starship etc records and we were listening to them. My dad used to play them all the time when i was younger, but i couldnt really appreciate them at that age - nowadays i just love them!! Grace Slick is, frankly, amazing- her songs are powerful and full of convection and her voice is amazing! what does everyone else think of them??? peace and love xxxxxx
Hey. The Old Jefferson Airplane. They're an amazing Bluesy West Coast group, you have to Love them I suspose. Have you seen any of their live stuff like Woodstock etc?
Jefferson Airplane are a fantastic band. Grace Slick is one of the greatest women vocalists ever! However i never listened to their jefferson starship stuff.
they are definitely one of my most favourite bands... i like their live shows... the best album is volunteers... i also like white rabbit and somebody to love... ok... its all cool but what do you think about that remix by boogie pimps - somebody to love... its good...
I saw them back in 70 or 71 with Papa John Creech, Jorma, Jack Cassady, Grace, Paul, etc. Really good. Then I just saw the new revamped Starship about a year ago on their Spirit of 67 Tour. I wasn't expecting much but they were very good. Paul was there and Marty Balin and some new young chic singer who was very good. Excellent show. Balin made a coulpe low blow remarks about Gracie but he always was a little strange. Excellent show. They were with The Iron Butterfly and QuickSilver. I also just saw Hot Tuna a month or so ago...also very good. Check out the album Baron von Tollbooth and the Chrome Nun This is Kantner, Slick and Frieberg from QuickSilver. One of their best.
I think that everything done by Jefferson Airplane is talentless shit, but yet again, nice to listen to once in a long while.
their first album 'takes off' is really good .... 'Surrealistic pillow' is also album i really love and their late 60's work is good but i have some of their early 70's albums which i don't like that much really ..
After Bathing at Baxter's and Crown of Creation are my absolute favourite, Surrealistic Pillow is pretty cool also
jefferson airplane/starship is a nice band. white rabbit is addicting. their other songs are fantastic
i used to have flight log on 8 track, i enjoyed listening to them. grace won't jam anymore, she thinks being a rockstar is for the young, i think she made a comment on how silly the stones look still playing, but i'll have to disagree, rock is forever no matter what age. i'd go see the stones even if the we're in wheel chairs. that might look silly, but i'd be entertained!
