Just nearly got hit by a car!

I was just crossing the road at a traffic lights on my way home, long line of slow moving rush hour traffic- pressed the button, light turns red as the last few cars pass and I go to cross as the next car in front approaching is well within stopping distance and looks like he is slowing down. So there I am crossing the road, decide to turn my head round to make sure that the car has indeed stopped, exercising a bit of the old green cross code, and the ****'s coming at me at about 40 mph! So I put the brakes on and step back out of the way, at which point he breaks to avoid hitting me and then he puts the foot down and speeds off leaving me standing there waving my hands and going WTF??? to the guy in the car behind who is also sitting in has car waving his hands going like WTF????

Bloody motorists.

What really pisses me off, is all the vehicles that act like pedestrians shouldn't be on the road, and all the motorists that find turn signals completely unnecessary these days.

I just want to say that I LOVE Stereolab!

Also, I am glad that you weren't hit, and as a frequent pedestrian I hate motorists. I also hate bicylists because they are also always trying to run me down and think that they don't have to use turn signals or stop at stop signs or watch where they are going.

Sorry for the rant, but I almost got hit by a bicyclist the other day and had to jump into the bushes.

 

This is sorta funny.... right about the time this was posted, I was just cresting a hill on a dirt road when someone came up the other side of it in the middle of the road...

We were both going WAY too fast, and we missed each other by the proverbial **** hair...

We have a huge problem in Miami with people getting hit by cars. It seems like every time I turn on the news it's someone new. But this is only because neither the driver or the pedestrian pay attention. The freakin' light can be green and you will see people fly across the highway on their bikes. Crazy shit man, crazy shit!

 

what an idiot.

 

Some old lady and her dog got mowed down at the stoplight in front of my work a couple of years ago. The walk signal was on and everything. Dunno what ever happened to the guy that hit her, but her dog died right there and she died later that night in the hospital.
