That sounds like a very good law to me. Even if I don't like the local slant, I would prefer a local slant than the UN's slant. FUCK that. And islamic law is a NIGHTMARE, not to mention that it's no more law than anything found in the bible. Laws and religion are similar because of convergent evolution, not because religion means shit.
