Ther article itself cannot be simply copy and pasted is there are charts and graphs accompanying the results from their database. Gay Sex vs. Straight Sex October 12th, 2010 by Christian Rudder Gay issues have been in the news a lot lately, from the debate over same-sex marriage in Congress to a sickening rash of gay-bashing here in New York City. We see a lot of emotion out there, instead of information, and we wanted to provide some data-based context on sexuality so that people might make better choices about what they say, think, and do.
"Gay people are not sexually interested in straights" is both surprising and questionable to this porn addict. Gay porn is riddled with 'straight' boys -- a search on Google images for say.. "straight guy eats cum" doesn't come back with a lot of cuckolds, doesn't come back with a lot of guys being 'forced' to or willingly eating cum off of females -- it comes back with tons of gay sex. There is also a question of logic. Why would a gay person be hitting up a straight on a dating site? I'm not saying a lot of gays go out straight-chasing, but it just doesn't serve logic that a dating site's data would be a reliable source on this subject. I am very much for gay rights, and see some possible counter-intuitiveness to this query of mine -- but I'm just sorta puzzled, as I figured from my porn that this was a major fantasy of gay men (as FFM threesomes are to the straight men)
I found it an interesting study, tho the results as Duck points out have to be put off by the source material. Which is the problem with most unscientific studies targeting a unique limited source. Like gays are no more promiscuous than str8s. Well, having gone thru the '70s when str8s were fucking like gay men I can see that, but now that het promiscuity has settled since then I think from my experience that gay men still fuck at every opportunity. Which is why, tho I identify as bi I haven't been with a woman in 12 years. Far too easy to get a guy in my bed - in fact sometimes hard to keep him out. Could be that GUYS are more promiscuous that girls and without the girls in the equation that puts limits on str8 guys, gay guys do get more sex.
i completely agree with duck. i go on a gay social network pretty normally and there is ALWAYS an ad involving some kind of straight guy. i like how the map of bicuriousity shows all of canada as being very bicurious.
Apparently my county is the only area in PA that is =P For some reason when I saw my county standing out in a sea of moderateness, I burst out laughing.
i find the personality part really weird. that doesn't make any sense that the trait distribution would be so polar. it looks made up. they say straight guys are ca 20% (???) horny and gay guys aren't horny at all? they say they've put this thing together based on people's own accounts of their life, there's no way results would came back so polar if that were so. and a typical straight guy isn't a bullying jock.
If the data source is a dating site, what dumbass is going to put on their profile that they've had 500 partners? Of course i've never believed there is much difference between gay and straight promiscuity, nor male vs female promiscuity for that matter Just cos some things are more hidden to public view doesnt mean they occur less
Frankly, the whole study fails due to the fact that people tend to lie more about their sexual behavior than about any other subject. It is also very true that people going to a dating site will invariably adjust their real attitude in order to achieve the goal at hand. Sure, who is going to openly state that he/she is habitually whoring around? Another thing is the "straight fantasy". Porn and fantasy are very closely related. Real life on a dating site is totally different matter. It is one thing tp watch the supposedly str8 dudes fool around with each other on the Fratmen TV and quite another to approach a self-confessed str8 dude and ask him to fool around in real life with another male. Mad as many people are, very few are as foolish as to get themselves into a really hot water. KD
Just on this subject, not the survey There are differences, and those differences compound over time is whats been freaking me out lately As a teen, hearing straight male friends say stuff, like "we arent going to do it tonight after the party, she's on the rags "(charming phrase, but oh well) my reaction was like eww, I dont want to know........20 years later though I hear that and it hits me, wow, I've never really had to deal with that, postpone a weekend or date night cos of my boyfriends menstrual cycle obviously And hearing it from the girls end "I dont like doing it when I have my period, I feel dirty" - when they said it as teens, thought oh they are just prissy, course now in there 30s and seemingly always horny and they say stuff like that, my brain thinks "You dont like having sex when you feel dirty??, Isnt that kind of the point" - Doesnt seem to make sense, or its something I'm never really going to understand As for gay guys, collectively it all does seem to be more orally fixated. So straight guys vs Gay guys, at 15 with a permanent hard on, we go through that difficult period with far less frustration, but 10, 20 years later they get trained a lot more on fucking, we never really had to worry about performance. And the girls have a sixth sense about that, which is why some of them throw themselves at the manwhore types that have had lots of experience, where as I'm in better shape, same hieght, but get this annoying mothering thing from all of them, as they can sense a certain innocence in me, from never having to have learned that type of control And I say its freaking me out, cos that manwhore type, was kryptonite as far as I was concerned in high school, didnt go anywhere near them, and they didnt want anything to do with me. 20 years later its like I'm the ultimate wingman, they are going out of their way to hang out, of course it helps that the 90% of the male population in between in glued to the couch with the wife
