It's essentially the US "helping" our own business and other peoples at the expense of the taxpayer and the taxpayer for many many years to come. It's worse than any upfront bailout.
The anti-Iranian sentiment is VOMITING EVERYWHERE IN THE US MEDIA. Give it a rest before I give you one.
The money still goes somewhere though Even if it is dodgy under the table dealings, Haliburton et al, greedy shareholders buy a luxury yacht, thats made by a bunch of taxpayers Blow the crap out of a building in Iraq, theres a hundred related industries spread over dozens of countries that came together to put that tank, tank shell or missile together, industries manned by a whole bunch of taxpayers, Then to rebuild that building again a whole bunch of related industries, spread over dozens of countries, manned by a whole bunch of taxpayers come together to do that

I can see the reason you tooked a monkey for your avatar. Going into Iran is for oil. And we do not need oil. I have no oil products in my home. I own a car but it is an old Firefly. The motor is removed and there is installed an air compressor and this is what pushes my car. I get 2 days of moderated driving in my ville and I can get speed of 85 km on highway. Next month... I am purchasing a solar panel so I can power charge the compressor and fill the air resevoir where electricty is not available. (I like to camp) And the tires are 100% recycled tires. Made from old tires
What about future victims of Iranian nuclear weapons? Do you care about them? In the worst-case scenario, an all-out nuclear war between Iran and Israel, tens of millions of people would die the first day. Millions more throughout the region would eventually die of radiation poisoning, cancer, leukemia, and birth defects. Many of them would be Iranians. If that war can be prevented by a much smaller war now, would that not be an act of mature compassion? If you aren't convinced that Iran would love to use nukes on Israel, you haven't been paying attention to what Iranian leaders have been saying for decades. We are not dealing with people who want peace. Allow them to get their hands on nuclear weapons, and the world will pay a terrible price, sooner or later. I'm not saying that removing Iran's nuclear capabilities would be easy or pleasant. I'm saying that somebody has to do it.
Iran doesnt have any nuclear weapons and wont produce any. Israel has enough nuclear weapons to set ablaze half the world. Do you think Irans politicians are so stupid to attack Israel?
So you believe everything they tell you? That they need a reactor for electricity because they don't have enough cheap oil? Yes.
Whats that nonsense of mass media propaganda talking about Iran wanting to attack? Its Israel and US politicians who constantly threat Iran with war, Iran never talked about attacking another country. If you have the slightest knowledge about military power you could see that Iran doesnt have the slightest chance to attack Israel/USA and their allies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armed_Forces_of_the_Islamic_Republic_of_Iran If you think that Irans politicians will destroy their country in a suicidal attack you certainly have consumed too much mass media. Dont you remember the propaganda lies before the destruction of Iraq? Same here.
So who is it that's going to remove the nuclear capabilities of the ONLY nation to EVER use one in anger?? This idea that the US is somehow morally superior to ANYONE is 100% fucked in the head.... Your government has killed and destroyed more lives then ANY other government in the world that has EVER existed... And you think that it should somehow decide who else should have them? Lets see if I can get my true sentiment to come through on this... . . FUCK THAT!
@notdeadyet Israel does have nuclear weapons. Israel threatens Iran with war!!! What if: Iran had nuclear weapons and did threaten Israel W/o nuces with war? You say Iran should be attacked! So in reality Israel should be attacked with your reasoning.
"They" say that Iran does NOT have sufficient fuel to meet its needs due to the ongoing boycott by western powers. It doesn't even have enough refinery capacity to refine gasoline for its own needs. Iran IMPORTS a LOT of refined oil products because it can't produce enough because it can't get parts and needs a huge upgrade and new refineries, but again not able to. Meanwhile it's got US and Israeli nukes and aircraft carriers and strike forces right off its coast. Iran is surrounded by hostile forces constantly threatening it. Who can blame them for wanting something to make this huge military force pause before attacking. Only nuclear weapons offer such a deterrent. That is their purpose since 1946, a deterrent. I suggest everyone put themselves in the shoes of an average Iranian before they even suggest war against them.
This is actually another policy that really backfired for the US through all of this... Because of all the sanctions, Iran has had to make concessions to other countries in order to make deals for the things they need (both civilian and military)... The countries that have been dealing with them, have become a lot richer with the help Iran's oil and will back them (perhaps not openly). Specifically, Russia and China... If anyone thinks these countries will sit back and watch the US invade yet another middle eastern country, I think that person should lay off the weed for a bit... Without the instability in the middle east that has been going on (because of exterior powers) for centuries, the middle east would quickly become a world power... With the US in three countries openly (plus how ever many secretly or slyly), that would represent a power base for the US... Something China and Russia aren't likely to consider a good thing for them... Keep in mind that those sanctions, haven't done a single thing to slow the Iranian government or military down... It has only cost them more money, which they just took from the civilians... Want to see what the extreme results of all that are? Look to north korea... The elite... the government, the military of NK aren't suffering from the sanctions... the sanctions haven't stopped them from anything except in terms of the way the civilians live... who have been completely fucked over because of them. Back to the idea that wars make money and are somehow 'good' for an economy... All the areas in which a war going on will improve, are already at full tilt. The problem is that war today is not like it was throughout any other time in history. Up until the last 50 years or so... wars were about acquisition... it wasn't just the industries gearing up that made them profitable... it was the amount of plunder and loot taken during them... Wars haven't been about plunder anytime lately... look at Iraq... 100 years ago, the US would have literally and openly owned the oil there after invading... making it a hugely profitable war... Instead, all the money that was put out for the war, has just evaporated... instead of gaining a resource, the US has just found another place to spend US taxpayer money... If the cost of the wars was truly and openly discussed and thought about in the US, then there is no way in hell any of you would think it was profitable... well except to those invested directly in the war industry of course... Why do all the numbers about the US deficit come with the added... plus the cost of the wars... like they don't count? You are all so far in debt because of the wars, that you can't even see the top of the pit you're in... The best (worst?) part of it is that a lot of americans seem to take (not being able to see the top) that as a sign that it doesn't matter... lol
Baghdad museum plundered http://www.baghdadmuseum.org/looting/ Iraq seed treasure destroyed http://oilgeopolitics.net/GMO/Iraq_and_seeds_of_democracy/iraq_and_seeds_of_democracy.HTM
Oh well then.. .I guess the US made out like bandits then... I take it all back... forget about all the money that the wars have cost you... While in Iraq, museums were looted... The check is in the mail from the fence as we speak....
When did I say that the nuke removal job has to be done by a morally superior country? I don't give damn if North Korea does it, as long as it happens. Who else has the balls to do it? Western Europe will talk a good line, while they sit back and watch others do the work. When was the last time Canada prevented somebody from acquiring a nuclear weapon? You're making this more complicated than it is. Fewer nuclear weapons spread around the world is a good thing. Period. Fewer chances for something to go wrong. Once one more country gets them, there's no going back, no unscrambling the egg. Prevention is the key. Anybody who can slow down nuclear proliferation should do it, if they care about peace. Maturity is all about being able to make tough choices. Sometimes all the options are terrible, and we have to choose the one that is least terrible. This is one of those situations. How many refineries and parts factories could Iran have built for the cost of their nuclear reactor and weapons research/production facilities? I'm surprised that you would say anything in defense of the current Iranian government. You were very upset with them a few months ago, when they were showing their absolute contempt for their own citizens after the election. Iranian leaders haven't gotten any nicer or smarter or more reasonable since then. They still don't give a shit about their people - only their own power. Do the Iranian people want nuclear weapons or war with Israel? Doesn't matter. They don't get a vote on either one. They are victims of their own government. I don't expect a ground invasion. The nuke facilities can most likely be destroyed or disabled from the air.
More than anything, the Iraq war was about KEEPING THE OIL FLOWING to the UK and US. Remember the "no-fly" zones? Think about that. That was in force for like 10 years. What was that all about? It was solely about protecting the oil pipelines and other facilities in Northern & Southern Iraq. Nothing more. And when Saddam threatened to price his oil in Euros instead of the dollar, which would've began the migration away from oil being fixed to the dollar, the US responded with an invasion. It would've eventually removed the dollar from being the world's currency. It's now happening anyways, but the US managed to delay this for another 10 years. The US sought sweetheart deals on the oil after the invasion, but I think the Iraqi political process scuttled that, and opened the gates to Iraqi oil to more countries than before, including China.
They attacked Iraq because Hussein started selling oil for euros, threatening the petrodollar. This was the big part of the calculation. The rest ist mostly propaganda, geostrategy and stealing oil.
