Any die-hard Doctor Who fans out there? I myself am just stumbling upon the awesomeness that is this show (4th season or so) and loving it. Ordered a replica sonic screwdriver and everything aha. Tennant/Rose FTW.
I love the doctor from the first season revamp. He actually does a parody of himself and the show on an episode of The Sarah Silverman Show (Season 2 I think). I watched the Season 2 and some of season 3, but I really hate that doctor. I totally gave up on the show... I know they changed the doctor again after that so I suppose I should give everything after that grating doctor left a try. I did watch a few of some older episodes with my boyfriend and they were pretty entertaining in a hilarious kind of way... Anyway he is a Dr Who freak... loves ALL OF IT. I just IMDB'd the show to see if the doctor I like was the one you liked and I see its the very opposite... I know Dr Who fans can be pretty serious, so I'm sorry for the slander on Tennant in advance. Just a personal preference I guess. =D I see that its Christopher Eccleston that I really like. I also LOVE Torchwood. =D The third season/mini-series they did was AMAZING! I'm in love with Rhys!
Omg I know exactly what you mean. When i first started watching Eccleston was by far my favourite Doctor but after a few seaons of Tennant you start to get used to him. Now I cant even go back and watch the first season, because he doesnt have enough personality for me. I miss the energy and the speeches and the intensity. I think if you gave it a chance you might like the next few seasons but to each their own. I really hate where I am now though cuz Donna is a fucking tool, worst travelling partner ever.
Is Donna the red headed chick from the Wedding Episode from Season 3? I think it's Tennant's intensity that bothers me. But since you made this thread I feel that you are right and I should really give it another chance... I've never been a huge Sci-Fi fan unless it had heavy horror elements, but my boyfriend started me on Torchwood and by Season 2 I was hooked... And when I saw the Season 3/Miniseries thing I was convinced that it was one of the best shows ever... Then he dropped Dr Who on me and I just fell in love... Maybe the doctor change was too soon for me... I wish that Eccleston had done another season!
I thought the same when the change in actor was made - that I didn't quite like the Tennant as much, but I started liking him more and more and now I can't even remember Eccelston playing the role, really. I stopped watching after a few seasons with Tennat in the role. I suppose I just got tired of it.. I don't even know who Donna is. It's a pretty awesome show, though. I remember when I saw the Dalek(s?) for the first time on the show. I instantly remembered these dreams I used to have as a kid involving getting chased by a Dalek around my old house. I guess I saw a few minutes of Dr. Who on TV and got scared by what it was I saw :tongue:
Yea Donna is the red-headed woman. Shes SO useless and not badass that its frustrating after Rose and Martha. But yea you should give it another chance there are some REALLY good episodes. And CS thats really weird cuz first time I saw the Daleks i had major deja vu as well, for some odd reason. Thats real fucked.
I can't believe they brought her back, she totally sucked! I really loved Martha because she was also on Torchwood... And yes she is totally BAD ASS!
The only thing that annoys me about them is that every episode their in they get shot at but they always have that sheild so you never really see them get hit. I dont know why but that always annoys me aha. And yea Martha is epic, Donna just sits around and bitches.
My boyfriend and I watched just a couple of episodes with this doctor... The FX were HILARIOUS!!! Good shit! =D

I love the Old Doctor's Scarf! It's so long and cool. I actually have a friend who is knitting one just like it. But yeah, love Doctor Who. Anyone got a favorite episode? Mine is probably the one with the Adipose (even though it's ith Donna). I just love the ending line: "I'm wavin' at fat!" X) My friends and I laughed really hard at that. And the little Adiposes are just so cute!
Adipose was good but if I had to pick a favorite it would be: The Impossible Planet/Satan Pit. Found it had some awesome quotes.
