Leviticus 20:13
"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

If a Man has sex with another man, or a woman with woman.. The anger of the Lord will be kindled against you. Bad things will happen in your life because you have angered the true and living God.

What does it mean?
It's a 2000 year old book, drenched in sexism, violence, slavery, immorality and primitive superstitions.

And anyway, I read it as 'if you sleep with a man WHILST your seeing a woman, it's an abomination'. So it's not really referring to happy non-cheating gay relationships.

 

should know of what--the ramblings of some individual who lived a couple of thousand years ago? what for? i don't care about an opinion of a person who lived in history, who i've never met and don't have no idea about what kind of a person he might have been and whether to take anything about him seriously, more than i care about an opinion of a contemporary homophobe who thinks homosexuality is a mental illness, unnatural desire, or what not. why would i care?

 

the word 'mankind' makes ambiguity. it could be interpreted as don't marry society or culture indefinitely.

god, if he exists, is completely irrelevant to our lives and people's gayness. and the only harm that has come against me, or any of my friends that are gay, were from other people. now either god works through peoples bodies to harm us (then he'd be deceptive god, one ironically like "the devil") or people are following books written by other people.

1st of all. I don't eat shellfish or pork. I don't swear at my mom or dad. I haven't shaved in 2 months. The two types of cloth were for the leviticus priest. the two types of seed were for the leviticus priest. The leviticus priesthood was done away with when Jesus died.

That would be a total contradiction to Isaiah 65:2-5 and Isaiah 66:3-4. It specifically says when the Lord returns he is going to dish out wraith upon those who have been eating pork... or swine's flesh. Isaiah was a future prophet just like John and Daniel.

If the Leviticus priesthood was done away with, then you can't use Leviticus do condemn people.

What about all the slaughtering, the sacrificing of virgins, the destruction of cities, plagues, famines, and slavery.
Didn't jepthah sacrifice his beloved daughter, his only child, according to a vow he has made with the Lord?
Didn't Moses distribute captive virgins to his soldiers after they had slaughtered some other city?

The bible is full of sexism, violence, and sickness, yet you hold it up as though it's humanity's moral code and authority.

how can god, an all-knowing, all-powerful being hate something? what makes you so sure that what is written in the bible is the word of god? why do you take it as truth? there's a reason it's called faith, there are no facts proving it. i don't mind spiritual religious thought but when people like you come along with the bible, i have a problem. what you're doing here is pushing a pointless and negative guilt trip on gays. god must love you, the same god that says to love everyone.

They say here, ‘Keep away; don’t come near me, for I am too sacred for you!’ while at the same time worshipping foreign gods and violating God's commands. But what would compel such people into this kind of behavior? It seems they think they are holy. It seems they think they are good and religious people. Afterall why would they waste their time in religoius pursuits? It was because they pursued their own imaginations. They made up ideas about God, about what God wanted them to do and about their status before God. They followed the imaginations of their heart.

 

i personally think that if there is a God, it is so much bigger than humanity is even able to comprehend and probably doesn't give a damn where men stick their hoo-hoos.
