The more i surf the net,the more i see the tendency towards nudism/naturism and barefootism. NowI FIND THAT REFRESHING! Now I just wonder, since when did this nudist revival start!? Could it be perhaps, the return to al that is natural, back to nature...?Or perhaps the fact of democracy and human rights,or is it a more acceptable method of exhibitionism?Do'nt get me wrong,i am a fullon nudist, and nudism is and comes natural to me.I am just curious, why the sudden intrest world wide in nudism, perhaps, nudism is an acceptable norm in some cultures (amazon indians and central africa excluded) ,and just became known due to the internet. As a country boy,we were more naked than clothed, and barefoot was the norm.
It started when the net started. The majority of forums however seem to fall by the way side as contributors get fed up, applies to a lot of forums not just naturist ones.
The larger publicity of these topics is due to the growth of social networks, forums and easier access to the 'net at large. In the starting days of the web, most pages were scientific, rather dull and there were not many design options (I remember using NCSA Mosaic as my first "graphic" browser). Furthermore, high-speed access was a thing reserved for universities mostly. Interest groups were built via the UseNet, and newsgroups such as rec.nude or alt.lifestyle.barefoot were the pre-graphic bulletin boards of those times. Some groups and people organized mailing lists/listservs, such as the Dirty Sole Society in 1994. Private web space was an exception rather than today's rule and private web pages were things for geeks, as there were next to none WYSIWIG editors for HTML. With the first social networks following the wake of the so-called "Web 2.0", more and more people started building their own presence on the web and easy-setup board software such as Joomla or vBulletin fostered forums like this one. More nude and barefoot people interacting are just a natural feature of the communications evolution of the world-wide web. The social nudists have always had the affirmation of their community, but there are a lot more of us who have been home nudists, maybe didn't even know what to call it, but we felt isolated and sometimes wondering if our family was a ittle weird until we came online and learned that thousands of other people love life in just their skin too! We are not weird after all! Our numbers may be growing as a result. Some of us have expanded from home nudity to social nudity, meeting kindred spirits in nudist settings. It's great!
