now, i love you guys, and i have often thought of this very thing, and what an ass to do that to your car, but i have to play devil's advocate here. "police are looking for someone who purchased roughly 500 bumperstickers and vandalized vehicles with them. if you happen to have sold a large number a bumper stickers recently, please call the tipline." i dont really believe in bumper stickers that say political type stuff. i like "i brake for boobies" but most of the stickers that i would want to put on my car would make it a vandalism target, because i believe in wacky crazy things (like love, and justice, and freedom, and hard work; and not god.)
Yeah, I hear what your saying and my car is definitely a target in that sense... I've got all kinds of political and social issues stamped all over the back of my car... but it was the 'Turn Off Fox News' that really got under someone's skin. And I agree... ordering a mass amount of bumper stickers and tagging them on everyone's car all in one go is probably not the smartest idea lol.
Someone keyed my brand new (new to me anyway) Honda 1 week after I drove it off the lot, because there was one of those Darwin evolution spoofs of the Jesus fish on the back. I didn't even put it on either it was just there when i bought it. It pissed me off cuz like really, is that what Jesus would have done? aha
john mccain rules though. he was going to legalize guns in every state and even full automatic guns. plus his border plans were a lot better than obama's.
chill out... I`ve been working on stopping but it was a slip. larger point, why is it that liberals are constantly annoyed at the easily offended conservatives, but as soon as someone mutters the word ``gay`` we take it personaly. Its not a great thing to say, but seriously, stfu.
I would bet money that someone with a john mcain sticker would freak out more over `I break for boobies` than he would over an Obama sticker. Unless you`re actually trying to make some sort of a statement by vandalizing a car with political bumper stickers, In which case I suggest that you just start sticking (politial party you dislike) stickers everywhere, because it would just build more dislike for the canidate in question. sticking an Obama bumper sticker on someones car will not make anyone more inclined to vote Obama 2012, however sticking Palin 2012 on someones car would probably cause them to dislike Palin more than they already do.
I take offense to it, not because of my politcal stance but because I am gay. I've been hearing the word 'gay' and 'faggot' all my life, why wouldn't I take it personally? I think it's great that you are trying to stop saying it, though.
lol... I felt bad about that after i read your other post.. was meant as a joke, poor taste.. :frown:
yes, poor taste, which is a reflection of you. glad to hear you are working on it, but really, if you are working on it, you should proofread what you write. there should be a slight delay before you finish writing and hit 'post'. i want gay to stop being a derogatory word. i would like very much for it to be a proper and acceptable word, for us as a people not to have to decipher someones meaning when it is used. i have a gay friend. my friend is gay, and blonde, and hearing impaired. see? descriptive in honesty. you know what you should say? you should say what you mean. if you want to say stupid, say it. if you want to say someone is a waste of oxygen then say so, but those things are not synonyms to the proper definition of gay. i think homosexuality is the only passive and acceptable way of dealing with overpopulation on this planet, the only way to rectify the problem with love and not death (forced sterilizations, purposeful diseases, war, etc) im not trying to pick on you, but the discussions have to happen and there are a lot of people who need retraining on this topic. when i insult someone, i use a real insult, you know?
I would be so pissed if someone put a sticker on my car. It has nothing on it to start with, though... I don't care what other people have on their vehicles. I do hate seeing really sexual or nasty stuff though. It's rude and little kids can read that. I saw a truck the other day with something about "muffs" written on the back window, and they were not talking about earmuffs.
There are no McCain followers... The invisible man must have slapped it on there as you were speeding down the highway lol. He was probably a dog hater too! That's crazy tho. Something that definitely makes you stop and think "w-t-f mate?" What's wrong with Fox News? (I wonder where we'd be if McCain did win the election... as if the world doesn't hate us enough already lol
Someone once wrote an improper fraction in pen over one of my boyfriend's equality stickers, have no fucking idea why though
Well, he said 'fag', not 'gay'. Gay is already a proper word. It means happy, festive. I have a ton of music from before the 70's wherein the word was used prolifically in lyrics, no doubt due to its great rhyme-ability. Then it was taken from us when the community misappropriated it for the purpose of changing its meaning to 'homosexual'. Now, all those great songs are confusing to new listeners and the word can no longer be used properly. It's easy to understand the strategy, though. Prior to the misappropriation, other words were used commonly to address homosexual people. Queer was the most common one, and fruit was also widely used. The community must have rightly felt that if those words could be misappropriated for derisive purposes (by the majority), then they were fully justified in changing a word of their choosing that would, therefore, be considered acceptable to them. And they were justified. But I've always wished they had chosen a different one. I've really regretted the loss of such a usable word (in lyrics) and I'm reminded of that every time I hear or sing one of those songs. As for your approval of solving overpop by embracing homosexuality - well, did you get that idea from watching South Park?
no, ive thought that for a long time. i dont watch southpark, because i think its dumb. its got good moments, but its not my kind of humor. the word queer, especially in the past when there seemed to be fewer homosexuals is much more appropriate, because queer means strange, and to a mostly heterosexual society, homosexuality is strange. gay is a proper word, but it can not be used freely, so i guess i mean socially proper, not 'in the dictionary' proper.
