Well, if the cows are to be shot down in the pasture, then at least they don't have to go through the torture of being transported to the slaughterhouse. So as long as they "have" to be killed, this is not so bad. The internet hunting thing is a new low for even those creeps.
Good point. If the cow is going to be slaughtered, it's probably better to be killed on-site. However, I suppose the concern could be raised that, seeing as the cows will probably be killed by yahoos who just want to brag that they killed something big, the animal could end up suffering at unskilled hands. Either way, it's pretty disgusting that some people can be so obsessed and thrilled by killing, that they're willing to go out of their way at great expense to destroy a life. That goes for Internet-killing too.
