I just recently subscribed to Netflix and I love it. I've noticed though that there are a bunch of really shitty movies as well as good movies. I figured this would be a good place to recommend good Netflix movies.:2thumbsup:
I like all kinds. Horror, Documentaries, Biographies. I really like movies that blow your mind you know. Like Requiem for a Dream, that shit blew my fucking mind. I don't really like chick flicks.
They have all of Stanley Kubrick's movies, if there's any you havnt seen. I watched "Barry Lyndon" the first time thanks to them. You should check out the movie "Humboldt County", everyone I've shown it to has loved it.
For extreme horror, that I love, they don't show uncut versions, they actually only show edited versions. which sucks because I watch those kinds of movies only for the sick shit that happens in them, not really for the plot usually! lol I have netflix though and it's good for other types of movies. For non extreme horror movies they usually have the "limited edition" and "director's cut" versions... Thank GOD for torrent.
I like watching a lot of tv series on Netflix because we don't watch cable in my house. I loved 'The Riches', it has got to be my favorite tv show so far... but it was cancelled after the writers strike so get prepared to be left hanging in the middle of Season 2 if you give it a chance - But trust me, it's WORTH IT! Been watching Pushing Daisies lately and it's alright, good enough to keep me watching... Before that it was Spartacus, which was AWESOME... very gory though. Sons Of Anarchy is not on Instant right now but it totally sucks you in... something maybe u could put on your mailing queue. OH! Also 'Skins' all 3 seasons are GREAT and on instant! I'm a big horror fan too but I like to go for the gore. Mulberry Street, Lo, The Alligator People (50's Creature Feature). Some good Indy ones that I really liked - The Chumscrubber, Sommersault, Sherrybaby, Gas Food Lodging, Smiley Face, Lymelife, Happiness, Uncertainty, The Sensei, Down To The Bone, Assisted Living, Good Dick. I also recently watched 'The Box' and 'The Descent 2' (The first one is one of the best horror flicks ever). A lot of people hated The Box, but I loved it! I'm sure I'll think of some more. =D
If you loved the first one you'll love the sequel. It's definitely not as amazing as the first, but it was great to revisit! It picks up right where the first one left off, and there was one surprise in the movie that I'm so thankful they tackled... Don't want to give anything away though! But yes, WATCH IT! You'll be glad you did!
We just got Netflix, too, and we watched SLC Punk last night. Every now and then I find a movie I enjoy so much I obsess over it for days, and this is one of them. The ending broke my heart, though, but I won't spoil it. It was really really good.
