Don't like how my dreads lookin...

I started my dreads like 2 years ago and didn't really know way I was doing or wanted but now I know I would like them to look thicker and more natural like nyjah Huston

And not like have them right now which is alot thinner and alot more dreads...shud I jus cut them off an start over or is there a way I can change how they look. Maybe by combining them at the root then let em grow out??

let them congo! don't separate them anymore. you may be able to twist them together. the ens will be forked probably a little, but the new growth will be a bigger lock.

don't cut them, jeez!

 

a smarter idea would be to just comb out and start there, they'd probably take off really quick

yeah but those rounded ends will still be there, I'm guessing those are part of what he doesn't like

Do you rip and separate your locks much at the moment?
Just stop rippin and let them combine, you'll get a bunch of different sizes like his.

 

You could always sew them together? I don't know. Or let them congo on their own.

I can't rip em apart lol they are locked! And I haven't ripped apart in like 4 months I think I'll jus let em Congo and sew a few. Also do you know how to get rid of the rounded tips?

I've crocheted dreads together before, works a charm

 

just leave the tips alone for now. get some good congos going. when they are strongly knotted together maybe then you can do something with the ends. this is all about patience and acceptance for natural progression. that kid you posted has natural neglect locks. so, just do that.

 

Remember, Nyjah has had those for like his whole life. Look how long and thick those are, that's YEARS of work.

There's nothing wrong with yours but if you REALLY want them to look like his the only way would be to cut and regrow naturally. But that would be a really big change man.
