I like Denzel Washington but this Unstoppable pisses me off.. Its a rip off of Runaway Train, but what movie isnt.. I like him in all his movies though.. and his role in Crimson Tide is classic.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKf7ONCXu3g"]YouTube - Crimson Tide Argument
I'm annoyed by sitcom married couples where the fat lazy slob is married to the sexy, smart but incredibly bitchy bitch.

But "She's nothing like a girl you've ever seen before / Nothing you can compare to your neighborhood whore / I'm trying to find the words to describe this girl without being disrespectful.... / Damn, you's a sexy bitch" is just so insulting, I can't believe trash like this is produced. To top it off, it's a huge hit. I hear it everywhere and see girls dancing and singing along to it and I'm just so perplexed. It speaks volumes about our culture when the phrase "sexy bitch" is not considered disrespectful. There are other songs that I'm sure are far worse, but this one is massive and inescapable at the moment.
You hope to be unattractive and get pushed around and insulted by your significant other? Disturbing.
It all depends. I think it's great to be a patriot; to have a strong connection with the brethren of your country (or even the forefathers), yada, yada, yada. I think it's terrible to believe in your country above all else; manifest destiny, the red scare, and the like. I gotta say, though, I do love stuff like GI Joe (the real one, not the movie), and the Frank Miller project (that has been changed a bit) "Holy Jihad, Batman" was my most anticipated comic ever.
don't confuse patriotism with nationalism patriotism is devotion to the state (and what it stands for, the political structure) nationalism is devotion to a nation (usually an ethnic nation, such as...germans)
nationalism [nash-uh-nl-iz-uhm, nash-nuh-liz-] Show IPA –noun 1. national spirit or aspirations. 2. devotion and loyalty to one's own nation; patriotism. 3. excessive patriotism; chauvinism. 4. the desire for national advancement or independence. 5. the policy or doctrine of asserting the interests of one's own nation, viewed as separate from the interests of other nations or the common interests of all nations. 6. an idiom or trait peculiar to a nation. 7. a movement, as in the arts, based upon the folk idioms, history, aspirations, etc., of a nation.
i just did a twenty minute presentation in front of about 25 people refuting that definition. patriotism can be part of nationalism. however, true nationalism isn't about maintaining the current political structure of the state. it is about: 1. a defined identity group. 2. a defined territory that the group perceives is theirs to control. a nation doesn't have to be a state. unfortunately people confuse this because of the predominance of the nation-state:US. i suggest you take a look at Barrington's "Nation" and "Nationalism": The Miuse of Key Concepts in Political Science. Sources: I has them.
