Now wives can snoop on their husbands' extracurricular activities with a device that finds porn on computers. The Porn Stick was originally designed for law enforcement, but now as a consumer product it's a hit with parents and spouses.

In addition to the Porn Stick there's the Chat Stick which can scan for leftover instant messages.

Does this only work if a wife is snooping? Or can husbands also check up on their wives? ;)

Because a jealous husband is unheard of, right? :D

All part of our fabulous new line; "Idiot Sticks"... don't know how to use your computer but sure your spouse is up to no good? Just 'Stick' it to them with one of many varieties.

Keep watch for our future products, The STD Stick, the Divorce Stick and the expected to be one of our more popular items... The Private Dick Stick

I don't really see that thing working at all.

If you want to spy on your spouse, just use a damn key logger.

Haha, I don't need that thing to search for porn on my guy's computer, he doesn't hide it. I snoop because I think it's hot, not because I'm a bitch. :p

Wow. That's a terrible idea. Trust issues much?
I'd rather have a girl just tell me that she wants someone else, and we could work something out, rather than to cheat behind my back.

I call bullshit. There is no way that any software can search and identify the CONTENT of an image or video file. It is either pulling ALL video and image files or looking for keywords in file names, most likely it is just pulling up all image and video files, so not all that they are making it out to be. Lot's of programs can find and catalog specific file types, and others can retrieve deleted files, as long as the area on the hard drive hasn't been overwritten with something else.
This appeals to the computer illiterate who don't understand how such things function. As far as the parents mentioned in that article that routinely check everything thier kids do, what douche bags.
Honesty, education, and mutual trust are what I use to keep tabs on my kids, and they don't despise me for it.

WTF is wrong with people nowadays? What ever happened to that little thing called trust in your spouse? And so what, so he/she's looking at porn...EVERYBODY DOES IT!!!

This is totally ridiculous. If you can't trust your partner on something as little as watching porn, why are you even with them? Seems to me like there's some underlying issues if someone's resorting to snooping out porn on their computer.

Actually there is software that can identify porn, or things likely to be porn. It just examines each image for an abundance of fleshtones (I believe). Above a certain threshold it tags it for review... I bet if the porn were to be modified to eliminate fleshtones via any of a number of methods, it could pass unnoticed. Then there could be a simple routine/program to restore the original tones for the viewer. But I guess someone would have to invent that first... hint, hint... ;)

On the other hand, perhaps it just measures the amt. of jism spots on any images and tags them that way... ;)

Yup, that's how it works. Which is why it isn't very effective. The one link I posted talked about it coming up with a bunch of innocent faceshots on a random computer they tried it with.
