Youre a pretty sick man chaos. Thats like saying a ceo ofa cell phone company deserves to have cancer because the cell phones they sold gave someone a brain tumor because they were on it 24/7.

Sick dude, like seriously, just sick.

Harsh and untrue. I can't believe you call him merciless when you have views like this.

And deserving of cancer... nobody who doesn't intend to cause suffering really is, I think.

I see it more as a symbol of McD's, the CEO is sick and the company is also in a sort of illness

The fact that its ceo is sick doesn't help to hide the fact that McD's is in a decaying state and that the company will not last much longer.

Think about it a company with high turnover of 60% and high labour cost, tells me that McD's is sick and won't last much longer.

McDonald's former CEO, Chairman Charlie Bell dies

NEW YORK, January 17 (newratings.com) – Charlie Bell, the former Chairman and CEO of McDonald's Corporation (MCD.NYS), died of cancer on Sunday in his hometown Sydney, Australia.

Charlie Bell was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in May last year, within weeks of his being promoted to the top position at McDonald's. He had subsequently resigned from the company on November 22, 2004 to devote his time to therapy and had moved to Australia. The US-based fast-food restaurant giant's Chairman, Andrew McKenna, said in a statement on Sunday that Charlie Bell had led the company successfully even during his illness and that his death was a tragic loss. Charlie Bell had spent his entire career at McDonald's, starting at the age of 15 as a part-time crew member. Bell became the President and Chief Operating Officer in 2002, before succeeding Jim Cantalupo as the CEO of the company, who died of a heart attack in April 2004. McDonald's witnessed a robust upturn in its sales under the leadership of Charlie Bell and his predecessor, Jim Cantalupo, with the company adding several popular salads and breakfast items to the menu and divesting its non-core businesses during this period.

Death by cancer at 44, that's young, yikes.

How terrible that some people rejoice in this man's death. He wasn't exactly Hitler. Much as I have boycotted Macca's and wish they would disappear, people choose to eat there because they want to. It's all about personal responsibility which society seems to have forgotten about in recent times.

I guess the lesson for this man was that the need to make it to the top of the corporate ladder (and in a company which is probably at the pinnacle of consumerism) can come with an enormous price. The guy before him didn't take long to die after reaching the same position. I applaud his ability for such high achievement. Imagine if someone like that applied their skills outside the corporate world instead, ie environmental causes or something.

THANK you. I was about to say the same thing.

Until you've had someone close to you -- say... your mother -- wither away and die of cancer, I guess you find yourself able to revel in someone's tragedy like Chaos here is.

    It's pure ignorance.

How can you bitch about the corporate evils of McDonald's when you're the kind of evil sonofabitch who can wish cancer on someone and enjoy when they have it?

People that say Advertising has no effect on people's eating habits is bullshit. It is just like drugs, if you have a kid who is really cool telling you that doing coke is fun and you'll be fine if you do it, and than have your boring, old parents telling you not to do it, who are you gonna listen to? Same with Mcdonald's commercials....when you have a bunch of kids your age on Mcdonalds, BK, Coca Cola commercials drinking it, and than have your old parents, or doctors saying not to, most likely you are gonna drink it/eat it, and maybe by now you have the ability to not listen or tune out commericals, but when you are a small kid at the age of 2-3, your brain isn't developed enough to tune out these endless commercials, and most likely they will grab a hold of you and affect how you think as you grow older.

    Peace and Love,
    Dan
