Hi All, Approximately 3 weeks ago I took the plunge and got my Left nipple pierced at Urban Piercings in Reading (UK). I was very impressed with the professional service of Urban Piercings; they were very helpful & answered all my question honestly. I must say that the piercing didn’t hurt as much I thought it would; I was told that it is very painful for a man to get pierced there, as the nerves are closer together than on a woman nipple??? Firstly while I stood, they marked up the puncture sites approx 1-2mm either side of my nipple. Then once I was lying down they swabbed around the nipple to clean the area. They didn’t numb the area or use clamps, just a 14 gauge needle (1.6mm) and a guide tube. I felt the needle go in but it didn’t really hurt, the only painful bit was as it emerged on the other side – made me take a sharp intake of breath. Then they inserted the Titanium Barbell into the needle and withdrew it, then screwed the ball on – job done!!! All over in a couple of minutes. I purchased a bottle of Metal Morphosis cleaning solution from Urban Piercings, it’s specifically designed for body piercing. It is a mild, anti-bacterial with moisturising properties that will keeps the piercing both clean and moisturised – seems to work very well. I clean the piercing twice a day with this solution, using a cotton bud (Q-Tip). I soak both ends of the cotton bud and push the bar to one side and clean carefully along the exposed length and around the ball, then push the bar the other way and repeat using the other end of the cotton bud. I don’t know if it’s me or the solution, but I have had no discomfort, bleeding or even crustiness – Is This Normal??? At 3 weeks the nipple is still slightly larger than the right one, but no redness or soreness. However this week I have experienced some itchiness, I assume it’s because it’s starting to heal??? My wife and I really love my piercing and she is looking forward to playing with it once it has fully healed.
try not move it so much when its healing .. my piercer always gives out to me for moving mine, it can delay the healing process.. emmm i dont know everyones different, mine was really painful. Healing was painful when i got cold haha.. really did... nipple piercings are great. i love them
You're lucky! I had my left nipple pierced a few months ago and it was absolute murder! I had it pierced not too far from where you had yours done and it was done exactly the same way. I'm happy with it now, but the pain is something I never want to experience again. If I ever have to take it out and it closes up then I'll not be repiercing it. Anyway, the itching you can feel is it heeling. You propably haven't experienced any crusting or bleeding etc. because you've been looking after it so well. Nipple piercings very rarely get infected so you don't need to be surprised that yours hasn't. Enjoy it
my left one was soooooo painful... !!!!!!! right one, not so bad, because i took some painkillers before i went in haha,, i didn wanna feel that pain again oh i wouldnt get mine repierced either if it closed, especially because its sorer repiercing something because the scar tissue is tougher to go threw.. eeeeeeeeeeek i dont even want to think of the pain haha
You're telling me! I've had my nose pierced loads and the last time was sooo sore! It's not there now and I just wouldn't do it again. Should my nipple close up, even if I was only going to suffer the same amount of pain as when I had it done originally, it'd be far too much. Even though I like it now, it actually wasn't worth it. Our poor boobies!
I had mine pierced last year just for the fun of it. It didn't hurt, but after i had it done it was just uncomfortable. I don't know if i'll get any more piercings done. Also, the nipple i had pierced is slightly larger than the other one and appears to be constantly "erect"...
Congrats on the piercing!! I've had mine for almost 5 years and I love them. Yes, the itchiness is because it is starting to heal. I've never heard of Metal Morphosis . I've always used sea salt soaks several times a day and H2Ocean spray while away from home. Mix 1/4 tsp sea salt with 8 oz hot water. I use bottled water and mix up a full bottle at a time and warm up the sss in a shot glass when needed.
i'm pretty sure youre wrong there. nipple piercings are extremely easy to get infected. the first time i had my nipples done they got infected after 5 months (as they are a six month heal) and had to get them repierced. but that was 5 or more years ago and they still going strong now. ive been pierced ten times and those were the only ones to ever get infected.
No, nipple piercings are far less likely to get infected than other piercings that are exposed. Think about it- Nipples are tucked away in clean bras and clothes and have minimal exposure to bacteria. That's unless you're either constantly disturbing it, don't clean it properly or touch it too often and with dirty hands! Some nipple piercings heal in 6 weeks, some in 6 months. It all depends on the individual. Mine took about 6 weeks!
cotton fibers are some of the most bacterially infected places on the earth. "clean clothing" is far from clean. they absorb moisture...a wonderful place for bacteria to grow.
Got my nipples done as my first piercing other than ears, and it has been the least painful of them all. Although now my right nipple tends to get tender every so often.
