Tell us what you think. You've got to "hand it" to the Spanish Socialists, they've done wonders to liberalize Spain, which is probably the most liberal country now in Europe.

    lol, here in belgium we HAVE to go voting or we get a big fine of a few hundred euro..i never go voting..lucky i have well-earning parents...i would go voting maybe if i wasn't forced to tho.

    I have always supported voting. Forcing people to vote is a bad idea, because you're forcing them to decide. And if the parties are not who they want, who are we to decide IF they should vote or not?

    Is our system really a democracy if most people are too tired or busy to vote? It often seems futile to even bother or you are given no real choices or politicians you like; the 'douche' or the 'shit sandwich'... "I'll just stay home, thanks".

    I think most of the people who actually bother to go out and vote are fanaticals or out of touch seniors... false democracy.

    62% went out and voted in 2008, so in fact most people did vote.

    Though numbers are much lower for off presidential years.

    Voting (in the U.S.) makes me feel dirty... in a most disturbingly bad way. It's become so bogus and is all too often a choice of the lesser evils. Many of us simply vote against a candidate or entire party. Can this be effective democracy and how much longer will it last?

    However, if this commercial were really depicting the reaction people get from voting, I'd be volunteering at all the elections!
