Hello everyone What is the best the most beautiful place to live in America? Please your participated in this topic :sunny: For example, I have nominated New York .. Because she is beautiful and wonderful, :2thumbsup: Tooti Thank you
Shall I accept the premise that you have lived in a wide enough variety of different locations on which you can make such a comparison based judgment?
stinkfoot, Thank you for your participation Well, no problem you nominated a number of places where you lived and what are the best between them ? And we would like to nominate one place and one city is the best Tooti Thank you
You have nominated New York based on your past experience as a resident there... where else within the US have you lived that provides a basis for comparison? I have live within a certain limited radius and cannot say it is either better or worse than places I haven't lived. I think this is a very good topic but as the OP is phrased, the responses will reflect prejudice more than observation or fact. Where else have you lived inside or outside the US? What about these other places make New York rise to the top in your opinion?
I'm genuinely interested in comparisons actually. I currently live in what can be described as suburbia- having relocated from more rural setting... which I have come to greatly prefer... as far as proclaiming my past residence as "the best"... well, having such limited range in residential experience I can't count myself as any authority. Your slur is duly noted.
Thank you for your interaction with this topic,.. the rural areas pretty well and feel like people which is born of a new existence, nature and landscape of rural scenery and quiet ... But there is many people in the countryside and there is no recreational areas such as cities, Thank you Tooti
Much the same, there are no recreational areas in the Cities as the like to be found Rurally. Cities mean clubs with music and dancing in cramped quarters with dirty inner city air Country means Bonfires and music and dancing in the outdoors with fresh air (Provided the party is upwind of the septic lagoon!! Where are you from originally Tooti? Perhaps in knowing where you have been and what you liked most and least about it, those who've traveled some may know of areas where you would find more familiar pleasures or things more to your liking as opposed to the singular, biased opinions of those who've only been in one place. America has everything, from the quietest of forests to walk in to the most crowded of cities to become lost in and all things in between, Deserts, Frozen wastes,,, everything. And of course, beauty is subjective, one of the most amazing places I ever lived was the west side of the Mojave desert, but many I've spoke with cannot understand how that is so "for there is nothing there" but yet there is everything. :cheers2:
for scenery i like the flat spaces near mountains, like the back of the sierras in eastern california, or the front range of the rockies in montana i also like the just really flat spaces, where the weather is the scenery - nothing like watching miles and miles of summer thunderstorm on the prairie outside america this predilection clearly puts me in central asia, right? cities? san francisco, no question haven't traveled enough to pick a foreign city for beauty, though i remember liking kyoto an awful lot . . .
where at? i used to live outside of victorville in the late 70s, and in tehachapi [overlooking it all] in the late 90s
The tiny town of Tecopa, surrounded by old Gold, Copper, Silver, lead and quicksilver mines (Can actually watch mercury boil out of the earth at a few points when it gets real hot out. Great place for rockhounds too, lots of Malachite (Copper ore), Quartz, Jasper and a number of other precious & semi-precious stones to be found in those Hills, Valleys and Slot Canyons.
Thank you for participating in this topic, ...I do not mean to recreation areas such as nightclubs and casinos .. But I mean for example, cafes, restaurants and public parks billiard halls and the cities of games.......And a more of these...... Dear Sirs .. I do not live in America but I chose this subject for the purpose of knowing the most appropriate place to live in America and what is the true happiness that exist in America I love this country with all my heart and I wish to live in america. ..I love New York... ......I live in Iraq..... Thank you Tooti
I really like the appalachian mountains. When I am there I can just look across the expanses and daydream about the history and the old homesteaders and settlers and how they did things.
I vote for Charleston SC. I've never lived there, and I've never lived anywhere else except where I live now, but I've spent enough time in Charleston to consider it a second home and I've spent enough time in other places to come to the conclusion that, while every different part of America is lovely in its own way, nothing comes close to the loveliness of Charleston. It has: beautiful architecture, a city vibe, a rural vibe just a few minutes outside the city, history, beaches, swamps with good hiking and good camping(in the wintertime), marshlands. the only thing its lacking is the mountains. I do love the western part of the country, where flat land stretches for miles and miles before rising drastically into mountain peaks. If Charleston just had a mountain, it would be perfect. I really like rural Pennsylvania too..Amish country. I could live on a farm there and be happy for the rest of my life.
considering how many people are in prisons throughout the united states. The question should be. :Whats the most comfortable prison in the united states of america?..
The California coast between Santa Barbara and Carmel. There are rolling grassy hills/mountains with oak trees, plus views of the ocean beaches and great weather.:sunny:
