Well I did two hits yesterday for my first time. It was pretty damn strong stuff, and I had a pretty good trip. I have tripped on shrooms before this, as well as LSA seeds. But anyway, a lot of people say that tripping on acid can change you forever, or it can make you go barmy. Well, I did it, tripped for 12hrs, it was awesome, went to bed, got up at 6:30 this morning and went to college and was fine. Am I missing something? Can acid make you mad? How much do you have to take? Cos I mean I don't feel any different. I don't want to feel different, but I do want to take more, so I just want your perspectives.

    Is barmy crazy?

Acid can give problems to individuals who already have an underlying mental condition. I believe after alot of uses it can wear some people out as well but not necessarily make them crazy. 2 hits is not a terribly high dose of LSD but I don't think it would have to be much higher to cause a psychotic reaction if its potent.

You almost come off as disappointed it didnt make you 'barmy?'
Even if you did go crazy its highly unlikely you would perceive yourself as such...

dont know wtf barmy means, but it can give you insights to yourself and the world- thus changing your perception from here on in...doesnt happen with ever trip but once in awhile you take a magical journey that transforms your spirit.

Don't know what barmy is but I'll assume it means crazy.

LSD usually only causes psychosis in those who already had an underlying condition. I.E- If you had schizophrenia but didn't know it yet, the LSD can cause an episode that would "bring it out." Your family history is the best way of determining if it's likely something you have to worrying about. Though that fact that you tripped on two hits for 12 hours (a good length trip) and had a good time is a pretty good indication, along with the other drugs you've used, that you'll be alright.

That being said, it's suggested (known) that one's LSD experience (other drugs as well) is highly influenced on the mindset and expectations of the user.

Some have heard that LSD can make you go crazy or this and that. They expected that that was the drug's effect and so when the drug kicked in, some experienced temporary psychosis or mania. This happened to me personally once. I was certain that I was going crazy, losing my mind, and upon this "realization" my mind became very scattered, nonsensical, etc. because I thought that's what crazy was. It's more likely that my mind (anxiety) was creating the problem, the thing I blamed it on was the drug. This went away as the drug wore off and I convinced myself that I was not in fact crazy.

Essentially, if you're worried about LSD making you go nuts, the best way to assure that it does is to keep worrying about it. We largely respond to drugs based on our assumptions of their effects. Believe it or not many effects of various drugs are psychosomatic. If you understand the drug's effects, what it can and cannot do, etc. you'll probably not be as concerned about it an you'll be fine.

LSD will not make you go crazy. If you tell yourself it will, then it could possibly.

there have been many discussions on this topic, and in short there is no easy definitive asnwer. really though, worrying about going crazy on acid doesn't do anything but spread fear and paranoia. your set and setting are going to be most inducive to the type of experience you will have. your mindset going into the experience, the enviroment that you trip in, and the experiences you have during your trip are most going to affect what you take from the experience.

lsd is a psychoactive drug. which by definition means it has an impact on your mental process.
